Well it all depends on what activities you want to do & where you like to eat. You can eat cheap, but if you are the typr that likes to eat in fancy restaraunts you'd might want to bring extra. Sight seeing is inexpensive unless you take tours than it can be a little higher. There are casinos & lots of nightlife so add more if you want to do any of that. I say bring atleast $500 and you will be ok, if you are not thrifty bring more. ENJOY!! PR is beautiful.

What ever your budget is. Don't spend your rent money or anything. Have fun...

You can make a 6 day trip here as cheap as you want or as expensive as you want:

If you are talking about food and drink you could spend the whole trip eating from the same fast food places as you would in the states at about the same cost

If you want to sample local Puerto Rican food (which I highly recommend that you do), you can get good affordable food at local Puerto Rican cafes or local food stands (kiosks) prices are usually very reasonable

If you want to eat at very good restaurants, then you will pay the same type of prices as you would in any major city in the states.

Fast food prices - similar to states
Local cafe / food stands - $1 - 5
Good restaurants:
appertizers $5 and upwards
main course $15 and upwards but more than likely $20
Drinks expensive in tourist areas

If I was here on vacation I would expect to spend around $150 per day for food:
Breakfast $15-20
Lunch $15-20
Dinner $60-100 depending on restaurant + drinks

Now if you want to see the island you can either take a tour which will cost around $45 per person for half-day tours or rent a car for about $35 per day + gas + parking at hotel

my daughter and i went to vacation to p.r. three weeks ago, and we each spent 3,000.00 and it wasn't enough.life is very expensive there, so use your money wisely. trip is about 560 one way for two in the coach section. p.s this was a 12 days vacation

I live here(PR) and when my husband and I hangout we spend in two nights around $500.00. If you like to eat well, a dinner for two can cost you around $110.00 to up, example if you go to Chilli's with your wife and eat appetizers, main course and dessert w/ some drinks you pay around $85.00 + tip (15%). I suggest to you carry not less than $1000.00. You can use your ATM and in this way you can watch your budget.

Try going to http://www.bbcarefreetravel.com and go to book travel. They have really good prices there, especially if you book a hotel or car rental along with the plane ticket.

I was talking to someone the other day, they told me they would not even consider goingit they did not have at least $2,000 in their pocket.
This person, likes to eat well, have a few drinks, and do some shopping. Is not a big activity person.
