I had this same problem. Upon someone's suggestion, I went to a travel agent. I figured they'd be waaay more, but that wasn't the case. They have special deals worked out with travel companies. Look for one who specializes or carries Apple Vacations. I went to the Dominican Republic (another great place to look into if on a budget), stayed at an all inclusive 5 star resort for 11 days, and INCLUDING airfare paid $1100 per person. Thats less than the Holiday inn.

I'm having the same problems also. My bf and I are going in Oct. so I have been doing some research for awhile. The best deal for the money I can find is applevacations.com
I have tried other sites like expedia.com (which is the cheapest but you don't get certian things like airport transfers). vacationstogo.com is not cheaper because they charge so much for airfair! The resorts on vacationstogo.com are cheap but you will pay at least $800 per person just for the flight! applevacations.com include everything from airfair, airfair transports, all meals and drinks, and some watersports. If you check thier web site and look for deals for the city you are flying from or month you should find a good deal! good luck

check out vacationstogo.com for cruise deals or resortvacationstogo.com for resort vacations. In both cases... click on the 90 day ticker and check out the discounted trips that are coming up in the next 90 days. You'll find some spectacular trips / some with air.

applevacations.com - the Bahamas are pretty affordable as long as you stay away from the Atlantis Resort!

Cruising is one of the most affordable ways to travel, and, in my experience, the most fun. We stopped in the Bahamas once on a cruise and didn't enjoy it at all (we cruise with Carnival), but their other ports of call are nicer. The main problem with all-inclusive vs. cruising is that alcohol is not included if you cruise, but it is if you do some all-inclusive resort. So if you're not a big drinker, a cruise is great and you travel to more than one place, but if you're going to be drinking a lot, you might save money if you do an all-inclusive resort.
