How to know when to trust him?

So I have a question. How do you tell if a jamaican guy is lying to you? I have this guy and he says that he loves me and I am the only one he's thought about since we meet. We meet about two years ago, nothing physical ever happened between us and there is about a 6 and half year age difference. He was working in Jamaica at a resort and now he is working in Florida.

I really like him and care about him so much but i just don't want to believe some of the things he says because of all the sterotypes. I ask him all time if I am the only girl and he says all the time. He wants me to come visit and he even said he would buy my ticket but I don't know. Any advice would be amazing. Thank you.
Additional Details
I don't think that he is here through the hotel works program because he does the trapeze not just work at the hotel. I maybe mistaken on that but I don't really know.

To clarify some things. Yes nothing has happened between us and we haven't been together the whole 2 years. Its only been the last couple of months and he said that since march he hasn't done anything with another girl.

My main question is what can I do to get him to tell me the truth or how do I know that I'm not being played?

Give the man a chance. Love is a gamble, some win, some break even and some lose. You cannot love with a sheltered heart, it will always allow you to second guess the intention of your companion, which is often unfair. Love with an open and true heart, it's hard but it's the only way to see true love, respect and honesty, and if the man should fail, your true heart will let you forgive or kick his *** out of your life.

Sis. most ah de above answer dem jus ah fuel yuh doubt, two year now yuh an de man deh, an him nuh get de pumps, if him was ah gallis him wudda gone long time, gone climb anadda June plum tree, coolie plum tree, chinese jembilin tree, cherry tree, apple tree or even a sour sap tree. Start straiten out de ting Sis, don't measure yuh man by wat de ress ah we do. Yuh wouldn't like it if him measure yuh by wat some odder woman do. Love yuh man, try turn him ina one burner.
Jah Bless.

Based on your question I am assuming that this guy is on the hotel work program, some of these Jamaican men are opportunists and therefore seek to establish themselves in the US because the standard of living is much better (therefore they find a US citizen to get married to so that they can become US citizens also) and two years later they divorce you. Be careful cause there are alot of pretenders out there!

One way to find out what this guy is up to is to ask his views on marriage, if he is too eager to marry you then that means he is up to something

Suggested Action: DUMP HIS A*SS

It seems like your having doubts about him and his truthfullness, don't dismiss your feelings.
Think about it: you've know him for 2 years and nothing has happened between you yet, it made me think that he may be getting the "physical" aspect from someone else.

My advice: Appoach with caution....dont leave yourself open to disappointment...

If you have doubts, don't bother even trying to trust him, he will fail your expectation.

If your doubts are stemmed from what you have heard from others about Jamaican guys in general, I'd suggest you remove them from your mind and give this guy a fair chance. Jamaican men are no more liars or cheats than men everywhere else in the world.

If your doubts are stemmed from his own actions not living up to his words; then you have reason to be skeptical. Keep the skepticism, watch his actions and when you are ready, discuss your observations and feelings with him.

You really have to trust your own instincts, and not listen to any one else.If he seems trustworthy, then go for it.Only time will tell! Trust your heart, long distance relationships are really hard! I am in one,so I know from experience! Good luck!

Like one of the answers said about me alot of Jamaican guys just want a visa and/or green card if they don't already have it and would marry a girl in Foreign whether England, America or any other Foreign country but mostly in America since that's suppose to be the " dream country " or whatever. Anyway you should ask him about marriage if he wants to get married now and just do it and see what he says if he says it too quick then he's after something or something's up because marriage should be something both of you want and it's not necessary to be married cause that can even strain the relationship.

Not all Jamaican guys are the same so not all are looking for a visa / green card but I've met some who straight out give me a big hint like one guy said " Can we get married ? Can we have a baby ? " He even asked me for money ! And I was thinking he's looking for a way out of Jamaica or someone to pay his bills or something. I'm not like that at all I'm independent and would never spend my time on a guy who's only using me.

Give this love a try because you never know. Life is about chances. I'm currently an upcoming Artiste , who knows if I'll make it or not ? I'm taking a chance with it because if I never tried I'll never know and always ask myself " WHAT IF.." so just try new things..give this guy a chance. My Jamaican boyfriend left Jamaica 4 years ago and we met last year and I never knew he never had his visa and green card until this year. He just started being more honest and open to me. We've been through our ups and down but that's alright because we're in love and that's all that matters. I don't believe in marriage though.

So my advice is take a chance. There a good sexy sweet smart Jamaican guys out there. Whether there a dancer, Artiste, employed at the airport or just a regular Jamaican guy all are different and not all have a bag of girls. Some are actually faithful ! Give it a chance but if you find out he has girls in JA and some he met in America then I advise you to not go through with him or you'll get hurt , if you get jealous easily.

My experience is MOST Jamaican men have "nuff nuff gal" meaning he most likely has at least 3-6 women as girlfriends...more so in JA, but I'm sure he's met a few in the states already. Its not uncommon, trust me...he wants to cover his *** in case you two don't work out. Keeping them all unaware of each other is the trick, and they're really good at it.

No double standard though, JA women do the same thing ;-)
