How to learn a jamacan accent?

You have internet access- use it. Search for any jamaican videos or movies - there are movies out there that involves real jamaicans, such as Dancehall Queen, and even "Kool Runnings" have jamaican actors and the american ones get the accent - well nearly. That's about the only thing I can suggest. Ours is one that is difficult to master unless you were born here or live here for a long period (years). I wish you all the best .
If you can't be bothered and decide to put "mon" at the end of everything you say I hope for your sake there is no Jamaicn in the audience - he will either be grossly offended or he will laugh his a** off at you.

Just like I'm laughing mine off eastindian's "pon da coola" suggestion. It's the first time I'm hearing about that one.

DONT say ya mon you will stand out like a sore thumb over here in Jamaica dont say pon di coola visit www.jamaicans.com and go to the patois (pronounced patwa) dictionary and start learning some real phroses dont let them people here fool you Jamaicans are no idiot them know tourist also u can try to develop a better accent by talking through your nose and not sounding nasal Americans are famous for talking nasal here in Jamaica

lol jamaicans just laugh afta yuh if yuh use 'mon' after every sentence..just speak like how you speak now cuz ppl sound stupid trying it..the accent kinda sounds like the voice is going down lower i guess (not high pitchy)..but u would have know some patois words to be able to speak true jamaican

Really its not that hard just listen carefully
We dont speak as fast as some of the other

Break down the words,......& when you speak to a locals,
just ask dem to help you w/what the english word to what
dem did seh.........thats a good way of learning...............seen

LOL... wht a funny Question... Dont listen to these ppl before me... " mon" and " Irie" are not used after every sentence and u will get laughed at if u go that route... What u need to do is find a real Jamaican and beg them to help u... reading something on the internet isnt gonna help u to get the real feel of the words... U need to hear it and Practice..... JAH KNOW!!!
