How was your first experience going topless at a beach?

well, lets just say that when i went to the DR last month i felt soooo free and wanted to, and bottomless too, but felt people staring so i didn't. i think i will next time because hale nobody knows me. i kinda felt like the movie stars though; somebody is always around with a camera :-) i am in the military and the last thing i need is to have someone put pics of me on the internet (lil paranoid:-) ) i was at a resort and saw this lady do it at the pool area so freely like it was nothing (a european thing i'm assuming) i walked down to a quiet part of the beach when i felt like doing it. so if you do it, don't do it in the pool area where kids are. walk down to the quiet part of the beach where hardly anyone is(the area before the next resort. if going to a resort, you'll know what i am talking about once you start walking the beach:-) there is also a hotel in negril jamaica called hedonism. google it for details. i was next door to it a few years ago. from my understanding everybody let's it all hang out like it's the norm :-D

anyway you will have a great time in the DR here is some additional info that may help you if you haven't chosen where to go and how to sign in at the embassy

if you want to do an all inclusive resort go to http://www.vacmart.com/ or http://www.cheapcaribbean.com/. i went to the Sirenis Cocotal Beach Resort. had a great time. got it through vacmart.
other good websites are:
http://www.hotwire.com/ sign up its free. click on trip watcher and it will let u know when the price goes down. you can look at a flight or a vacation. also go to
http://www.bookingbuddy.com/ you can click on the different websites at one time. it will put each click in its own window.

these websites are not mandatory unless u r military or govt. it is highly recommended in case of an emergency

http://www.travel.state.gov/ look under international travel for US citizens. then click on registration with embassies. check out whatever else may interest you on that page especially Emergency assistance to americans abroad and Tips for traveling abroad . also go to http://www.domrep.org/ once there go to embassy. under embassy click on embassy staff. print that page and put it in a safe place. also do the same thing for the consular section click on consular staff and print & put in safe place for that just in case of an emergency.again, the site above is not mandatory to sign but highly recommended in case something happens.

PS... 4got to tell u to check the people ratings of the resort or hotel that you choose before buying. as you know, all that glitters is not gold. some ratings could have 5 or 6 stars but once u get there u know that there is no way in hale they should have been rated that high ....

As an European I basically grew up on "topless" beaches. It's not for everyone. I personally think it's not a big deal if you look aesthetic because looking at an utter is not appealing. However I've always hated the dirty old men type droolers...be careful who watches you, it can attract uninvited weirdos

If she does, just make sure to use lots of sunblock and apply it often. Was in Cancun where some college spring breakers went topless. I tried telling them to use lots of sunblock but they knew better then me. Wound up they had problems even wearing loose fitting t-shirts. Don't know how they ever made it on their flight home. Enjoy.

I went to St. Martin, and I went to a beach like that on the French side of the island. We walked to a glass bottom boat. I had no problem with French women dressed lightly.

Just take it easy, you'll both love it. My husband pushed me the first time a few years ago in Greece and I have to admit it felt strange for the first few minutes but afterwards you'll absolutely get used to it.

I wouldn't bother for the people who watch as anyways they'll do it with or without the "top". Some people, men or women, undress you in their minds anyways, so sit back, relax and enjoy the sun. Let them watch your beautiful assets, who cares?
