From the forecast its going to hit Jaimaca about on Sunday. If I were you I would not travel to Jaimaca until the storm is gone. Maybe Monday. THe airlines have their policies allow date changes due to hurricanes, but definitely you should not travel to Jaimaca this Saturday.

You need to reschedule your trip if possible. The hurricane will hit Jamaica and wil affect the whole island. Most likely by Monday the storm should have past thru. Good luck

Yes, it is projected Jamaica will be hit pretty hard, but you never know because the hurricane can change directions over the next few days. I would check with your airlines and your reservations and make the necessary precautions in case you can't travel.

If you're flying Air Jamaica they will allow you to reschedule your flight without penalties. I just read an article on the online version of the Jamaican Gleaner this morning about it. Check it out......

we will get a direct hit if the storm stays on course. The rain should stop by 2 days after we get hit.... you will be fine on ur trip.... if a hurricane comes it will make ur experience a better one.

As of right now Dean is a level 3. It is predicted to hit Jamacia this weekend. However, it could slow down and it could go a different direction, they really never know where it is going to go. However, I have family right now in St. Lucia where it just hit ( they are ok) but they are staying at Sandals there. They advised that Sandals is paying for them to come back for a week for free. Since they had to deal with this hurricane. If you have travel insurance, this should cover it. If you have not gotten travel insurance it is too late. You can only get it prior to a storm being named.

It is a good thing you picked Ocho Rios since it is on the other side of the island from the hurricanes direct hits. But from what I read on here, the violence expected from the elections (the 27th) should be a bigger problem for you. You might want to look into that since I don't know much about it but others do.

Kingston is in the path to get some serious winds and most of the southern part of the island will be as well. What part of Jamaica are you going to? If it is Montego Bay or Ocho Rios then things should be much better.

By my observation it's gonna hit Jamaica when it;'s a Category 4. So yes it is.
