Hi !,
This can be fun! But you have to tell me where you gonna stay, because then I can tell (suggest) you where to go and what to do. Definitively Punta Cana is not an option this is a hotel area with not much things to do outside with the nearest town 45 miles away. Puerto Plata is a good choice and if you are not so interested by beaches, Santo Domingo is also very nice to discover. Let me know and I will help you.
Bye Bye. |

Check out Las Terrenas, Samana area ... This area is growing very fast.. The restaurants here are some of the best on the island. Many things to do here the other citys just have big hotel to sit and drink by the pool. We have some of the best beaches in the Caribbean.. Look up www.lasterrenasweb.com and www.lasterrenastv.com |

You can go many places
Puerto plata for surfing, cable car, surfing, nightlife etc.
La Romana to chavon river and altos de chavon theather.
Barahona to the rural area deepest lake in the region and ecoturism.
Ciudad Colonial (santo Domingo) Cathedral, Columbus house, Columbus lighting house etc.
Constanza ecoturism (where most roses and flowers grows)
Good luck !!
Enjoy your stay!! |

You will have lots of fun in my Country, lots of beautiful girls will throw themselves at you. It all depends on where you are going, I love the beaches in Bavaro beach and Punta Cana. If you tell me an specific place I can recommend places to eat. Have fun and be safe!!! |

There are many places you can visit:
SANTO DOMINGO – this is the capital of the DR there these are your best spots: Parque Independencia- Calle Independencia (Indepencia Street) is at the begging of this mayor street and this is a park where our three fathers of our nation are buried. This is also one of the entrance to the colonial zone of the city. If you walk to one of the extremes of the park you will see this huge rock door that opens to a main walk-in road called “El Conde”. This is a commercial street that makes you go deep into the colonial city, at the end of this road you will find “La plaza de Colon” (Christopher Colombus’ park) and on one side the first cathedral built in the Americas called “Catedral Primada de America”. In this area there are many interesting things to see since most houses are from the colonial era, a Hard Rock Café is there too; once in the park you can ask where the “Alcazar” is (this was the house of Diego Columbus which was Columbus’ son) with a huge plaza that has a view of the commercial river of that time.
These are other interesting places to visit-
Plaza Central – this is one of our ok malls (located at 27 de Febrero Ave. w/ Wiston Churchill Ave.)
La Sirena – huge store where you can get nice soveniers at a cheaper price than a tourist shop (Winston Churchill Ave. w/ Roberto Pastoriza St)
Acropolis – this is big commercial building where you can shop and eat. (Winston Churchill Ave. a few block south of La Sirena)
Visit Lincoln Ave. at night to get the young people ambiance and check out some Cafés (**there is also many nice Cafes in the colonial Zone)
Ruinas de San Francisco – these are some ruins from a Monastery from the Colonial times too, nice experience and excellent picture place
El Malecon – (George Washington Ave.) Cant leave the city before visiting this site at night time, a water front with commercial spots and music (sometime live)
There are many other places I could recommend but I would just leave you with the site bellow
http://travel.yahoo.com/p-travelguide-27...
PUNTA CANA- this part of the island has not been developed to its fullest, however these places will be nice to look at:
Basicila de Higuey – This is a very nice Architecture building that holds our Lady Mary which we call “Virgen de la Altagracia”. Google the name and you will see pictures of it.
La Romana- very nice town well know for “Altos de Chavon” which is a cultural spot where will find art schools, concerts arena, etc. This link will show you more or less what it is, this is about 1 hour away from Punta Cana
http://www.altosdechavon.com/
PUERTO PLATA- This is one of our major traveling destinations so it’s all guided towards tourist, there is plenty of day and night activities. |
