Its not easy, and you can't become a citizen w/out becoming a permanent resident. So you would have to leave T'dad come to the US marry a US citizen, file for your green card first, you would get a temporary one. then you have to stay married for a number of yrs to the US citizen, then file for citizenship.

go to www.uscis.gov to find out more info.

Hey, it's not that easy to become a US citizen.
First you have to be a permanent resident and after 3 yrs if married to a us citizen or after 5 yrs if you obtain your residency by other means, then you can apply to become a US citizen.
You can also be sponsored by someone through a job or stuff like that.

Go to the website for the U.S. Embassy in Port-of-Spain:

http://trinidad.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visas.html

They have information on how to apply for immigrant status visa. Once you are granted permanent residence, you will have to live in the USA (or Puerto Rico/U.S. Virgin Islands) for at least 5 years before you can apply for citizenship.

Also visit the official U.S. government website for visas:

http://www.unitedstatesvisas.gov/permanently.html

exactly what chef d said^^^^^^

The girl next door
hahah good luck with that its hard enough for people who are living in the US to even get citezenship or some dont even have Green gards. The only thing I would suggest is if you marry someone from the US who is US citezen they can apply for you to come to US and then after a couple of years you can apply for your citezenship. I know this guy who was from Russia and he met this American girl online and started chatting and fell in love and he now lives in the US with her. Pretty shallow but lots of people do that.
