I'm going on a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas next week, what should I pack and what should I expect?

As you will be using the pool and the beaches you will need your swim wear. You will also need some sunblock to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun. Light clothing for the day is needed as well as nice clothes for the dining room. You need something special for the formal night with nice shoes to go with it. You do not need a towel, shampoo nor soap as these will be provided.
camera, batteries, charger
cell (if you need one and charger)
makeup for women
undies and sanitary napkins for women
soft-wear/sandals for walking during the day
running gear if you run on mornings around the ship's deck
shades and glasses if you wear
Things for your hair (bands etc)

You do not have to pay for any meals unless you choose a specialty restaurant (Steak House on Princess). The only free juice is at breakfast. I know there was a free ice cream station but there also might be a paying one. If you choose wine for dinner or order any other drinks or sodas you have to pay for them. They do not use cash on board but a ship pass. They will swipe your credit card and this will be linked to your ship pass. You ship pass is what you will need to buy things on board or for seating in the restaurant. It is also used for entry and exit from the ship and to enter the port after leaving the island.

The only money you will need is for shopping on the islands so depending on what you want to buy you can estimate. The ship's excursions are very expensive but you can go and bargain with the taxi driver for a better fee. You can bargain for this, maybe $25 per person sharing in the taxi. Bear in mind that it might be more.

You will put on a few pounds as the desserts are pretty to look tantalizing. I am here struggling to get off the few pounds I put on from my last cruise. There are many restaurants and you can choose either of two sittings. It is 6:30 or 8:30 pm. There are also two shows nightly which will be 8:30 and 10:30. On Princess has 'anytime dining'.

There are bands playing at night, disco, karaoke, free dance lessons (Princess), quizzes etc.On Princess, the band usually plays when leaving the port 'sail away melodies'. People will come around asking if you want a drink from the bar. If you choose one remember it will come off your credit card even in the theater they will come around.

On entering the ship for the first time and on exiting the ship to each port they will snap a picture. You can take as much as you like but if you choose any to buy they will be expensive. They will also take them on formal night. The only time you will get free alcoholic drinks is on Formal Night(Princess) or Captain's Ball (Carnival).

I went a few years ago and its very nice and people are great, but I didn't expect to pay $12 for almost any simple meal....pack snacks! Very expensive!

Pack only necessary items. Always try to avoid excess luggage, and carry clothing items that can be reused. Comfortable casual clothes are ideal for the daytime. Pack your bag with extra pairs of swimsuits, gym clothes, long-sleeve and short-sleeve shirts, rainwear, shorts, and sweaters. Passports, birth certificates, cruise documents, and tickets are among the essential things that must be included while packing for Bahamas cruises. I will say that the 3 day cruise is more of a party atmosphere then the longer cruises. Everyone is trying to get a lot done in a short period of time. It didn't bother us except for one time around 3 am when a group was very, very loud going down the hallway and woke me up. But they passed quickly and it really was not a big deal. I didn't see anyone rude or obnoxiousâ€¦..they were just having a great time!

sunscreen, bathers, 4s sets of clothes, a jacket and a umbrella. you should expect rain, sun and cold. look at the weather there as well just in case you need to bring more.

Pack lots of money if you plan to drink on the cruise, they charge about the same for a whole bottle that you can get on land for one drink. lots of sunscreen the sun is different down there. It really is you'll burn if you have the slightest sensitivity to sun. umm food on the land is very expensive so just eat the good free food on the ship to save money. if you want to do the jet skiis or banana boats or parasail on the beach BARGAIN especially if you or someone your with is a cute girl in a bikini you'll get really good deals if you tell them your going else where they will crack and give you your offer. locals will offer you weed. don't buy any. lots of them are under cover cops or laced with something else. if you want to save money on drinks buy clear alcohol on land and put it in water bottles to take on the ship other wise they will take it away. Thats about it just enjoy yourself the beaches are really amazing and the water is perfect.
