You have forgotten to mention were you are coming from.
However i can safely say if you are flying from the USA(USA 60 Hz 120 v and 270 v) in Jamaica is 110 v 50 Hz and 220 v which you can achieve by combination two 110 v or a simple combination of earth and the industrial 190 v leg, this would require that you have a transformer it also depends on what you will be using whether it be a hand held device (phone, laptop, and so on).this power will not affect your device in the short term(by causing it to malfunction).
if you have a device that uses 220 volts and up wards, that is then broken down by and adapter or transformer,be sure though to let a qualified personnel make the necessary improvements for its operation while there.such devices for sure will need the attention.
Oh, i almost forgot 220 v can be problematic sometimes as the outlet that is there may not be the same.but 89 % percentage of the outlets are recognizable, but some Euro countries have inlet sockets that do not exist in Jamaica that are compatible with the device.
110 v not need adapter or any other form of adjustment once you from USA or Canada, sorry i forgot the point while answering your question earlier.

If you are going to a resort most have electrical for hair dryers and computers. You can call your resort and ask but most do. All inclusive resorts do for sure. You can also go to www.jamaicatourism.com and check out any question you have.

I'm not really sure what the previous answer said, but power in Jamaica is 110 v. If you are in Europe then yes you will need a converter. If in the US you will not need one.

JamaicanGirl
If you are coming from the US, you don't need one
