yes it is, i used to go to DR every summer vacation as a child just recently stopped going and i was at puerto plata a lot, pretty much most rivers in the major cities are as clear as they are on tv

no is not clear always ask for water say always hola under puedo comprar agua but in the hotel's their gonna welcoming you very good i live their dominicain-Canadian and i was born their so don t worry I'm not talking crap

Hi, Yes the sea very clear on the beach of the Riu's (bahia de Maimon) and like already told, also the rivers are as clear as shown on pictures/posters. Don't forget to discover this beautiful part of the country. Puerto plata is very famous to its beaches. there is a clear water at RIU HOTEL.I was there last month.Enjoy your trip.

I have been there before and the water is calm and kinda clear. Punta Cana has very clear water that is blue. Puerto Plata is kinda brownish and snorkling at the resort is not good. Still a great time and beautiful resort.
