Get with the exercising, and alter your diet. Cut out saturated fats, processed sugars, junk and fast food. Eat more fiber, whole grains, lean meat, fruits and veggies (especially beans).
You don't have much time. I suggest a half an hour a day, 6 days a week of aerobic exercise. Don't starve yourself or anything, just eat healthy. You won't be able to keep off weight lost too quickly, I don't know if you can cut 10 pounds in only 2 weeks, but 5 or 6 is a realistic target if you work hard.
And while you're there, ignore your weight. If you're trying to diet and stay healthy, you'll miss out on one of the best parts of Aruba, the food! Work hard now, and go enjoy the island, there will be time to continue exercising and eating right when you get home! |

Easy.
First, drink a lot of water and with a lot, I mean a LOT. Like at least two liters a day. When on a diet, I drink a liter and half before midday and then the rest in the afternoon. If you are having a hard time with just water, try crystal light or totally light. Goes down easier.
Stay off bread, rice and potatoes, eat proteins and veggies only. Never eat after seven in the evening. I usually snack on a piece of fruit at around 10 and then eat a BIG meal at midday. So a large piece of chicken or fish, sometimes meat, and then a HUGE salad. I love salads and my husband prepares them wonderfully with dressings he makes himself. He's quite the chef and when I go home for lunch, he always has something nice prepared.
Late afternoon I prepare lettuce-sandwiches. They are really easy to make. Two leaves of Romaine lettuce and then a slice of cheese, a slice of ham, a dollop of ketchup or any other spicy sauce. Prepare it like you would a sandwich. Yum! Sometimes I have two boiled eggs. You should always listen to your body. If you're really hungry, eat protein. Eggs fill you up better than the lettuce-sandwiches.
Snacks for me are pieces of cheese, slices of turkey breast with mustard, mini-carrots and watermelon (of which I allow myself to eat as much as I want). Oh, and breakfast, oranges (my favorite fruit) and orange juice. That helps with going to the bathroom too.
Make sure you burn some calories every day, like walking for an hour and a half. Walk like you mean it. Challenge yourself going really far, because then you'll have to walk all the way back. Ha ha! Be safe though. Walk with a buddy, always with your phone and make sure you let people know where you are going and how long you are going to be from home. At home, try this exercise. Stand with your back to the wall and then swing around to touch the wall behind you with your hands. That's for your waist. If you are not used to doing a lot of exercise, start by doing like ten on each side and add to that each day. It's really easy and you'll see your waist nipping in within a couple of days.
Also take a flush at the start of your diet. Best is to start by pigging out a day, eating anything you like, and then the next day waking up really early and mixing epson salt (like one tablespoon) with a bit of warm water (not too much, it tastes really bad). Drink it up in one gulp. Have a orange ready and pop it in your mouth and bite down on it as soon as you have drank the epson salt. Then just start drinking water and tea and stuff, as you normally would. Within an hour or so you'll start going to the bathroom, without cramps, just going and going and going. You'll be done in an hour, an hour and a half. Go on with the water and eating light things and the next day start with the protein and veggies and the walking. If you ever had trouble with your tummy, don't do the epson salt. Skip that.
My guess is you'll lose like a kilo and a half to two kilo's per week, depending on how fast you lose weight. Two kilo's are like four and a half pounds. So two weeks.. hey, you could get to nine, ten pounds. I also recommend you not to weigh yourself, but to measure. Not necessarily with a measuring cord, but by trying on a pair of jeans that are really really tight and then trying them on every two days or so to see how things are going.
Good luck. You can do it! |
