im going to jamaica on for a vacation soon. no i am not going to smoke weed i do not smoke anything nor do i even drink. i want to know however if i will fit in, not because of the drinking and smoking but because of my race. i am not white, i am dominican (from dominican republic). i have straight, smooth hair and a nice tanned complexion as if i were from the middle east. being dominican i am naturally a mulatto. i heard whites and mulattos are kind of frowned upon in jamaica. also are the girls stuck up? i'm only 21 and i'm very attractive (not bragging, but i do work out hard to maintain myself) so no i am not looking for prostitutes (yuck) or anything i just want to hook up with some local girls. okay, thanks. |

If you're staying at a resort, just connect with someone on the entertainment committee they'll tell you everything that you need to know... about the where's and when's!!! They'll even take you...

You'll fit in fine. Jamaica doenst have the perseption that you have. We are a nation made of many races so it doesnt matter what skin colour you have. And drinking and smoking is only an option its not the made way we socialize. Whoever told you that you'd be frowned upon is crazy! As long as you are cool and down to earth it'll be like you grew up here. With regards to the girls, I'm sure every country has its stuck up girls but most Jamaican girls are friendly and easy to talk to and if you are attractive you wont need to do much work.
