I'm in Jamaica, was i crazy to go to work during hurricane Dean?

i boarded up and went to work, well me house was undamage but where i work, the part of the roof and a window was blown out by the storm. no one was hurt, just some water damage. i just got back electricity, but no water yet. thanks to all the people who prayed for my beautiful island and people. it worked, the storm was not as bad has it could of been.

I had to work through a couple of them in Miami also. You board up what you can and go do what has to be done. I'm very relieved to hear the news. Has there been any deaths? Hopefully everyone is OK. ;-)

The eye passed just south of the island. Your damn lucky about that. I went to Jamaica on a vacation for a week in January and I loved it so much. When I heard a hurricane might hit, I was a little worried about the people I met there and if they were ok or not. They were fortunatly. In terms of going to work or not, I wasn't there. I don't know what the conditions were so I can't say if it was smart or not.

If your job demanded that you work I don't see why you would have been crazy to go.

Its Very Hot In Jamaica
It depends in where you work really. If it is an essential service- hospital, police, fire station, shelter manager etc., then no. Otherwise hell yes. You know us Jamaicans from likkle breze blow weh naah go work. Glad to hear you safe though. And i hope you have the good sense to bring supplies to work.

Good to hear everything worked out ok. Depends on circumstances. If you left a wife and young kids at home along--yes. If it's just you in the house--might as well work as stay home and worry about possible damage.
