Many persons who answer in the Jamaica section are Jamaican some reside here others reside elsewhere and others may be of Jamaican descent. As such most of us can speak patois.

Pinke you have no clue to what patois is i suggest you do a yahoo search and come again. 'bout broken English you not right at all and the know-it-all attitude, is not necessary.

Patois can be used to in reference to the vernacular of a country or group of peoples therefore any sort of creole, pidgin dialect or combination can be described as such. However Jamaican creole is traditonally referred to as patois.

Dominicans speak English and French creole, i suggest you delve deeper into your heritage or simply ask your mother.

I'm not Jamaican, but in our four trips there I've picked up some good Patois phrases. I think it's one of the most beautiful "languages" I've ever heard. I believe there's a website called Speak Jamaican where you can hear some phrases spoken to get the flavor. Walk good.
