There are so many great places to go in the Caribbean.
I really like the US Virgin Islands
http://www.usvi.net
All three islands are very nice but my heart is in St John, the smallest of the islands. The beaches are awesome and aside from Caneel Bay Resort and the Westin, the beaches don't have magna hotels lining the beaches.
When we visit we rent a house/villa. Lots more reasonable than a resort. Most of them come with a hot tub and pool. All the conveniences of home and more. Beautiful views, privacy and a chance to save some money on meals and cocktails.
We enjoy hanging on our deck in the evening, taking in the sunset, star glazing and relaxing with a frozen drinks made from our blender. Take a night time swim. Love having my coffee and breakfast in the AM overlooking fantastic views.
We usually having dinner out every night. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. We also rent a jeep to get around to all the beautiful beaches. You come back very renewed from vacation.
This may not be for you and if you prefer a resort. I would suggest you stay on St Thomas.
They have great shopping in Cruz Bay and it's all duty free.
What I also like about St John is you are very close to the British Virgin Islands. You can take the ferry over or you can go on a boat excursion to BVI.
Enjoy, researching your Caribbean dream vacation) |

If you're going in the fall, I would advise Curacao, Aruba or Bonaire since they are all out of the "huricane belt". For a reasonable vac, go to the Dominican Republic. We go every year, Puerto Plata-Sosua (Casa Marina Reef), Santo Domingo (Marien by Hilton) and we're going to Bavaros for the first time this Thanksgiving. The all-inclusive rates are low and so are the flights.......lots of drinks, food, entertainment and activities,,,,,,,,we don't usually leave the resorts though. |

I recommend the Dominican Republic!
Its a great country with great people and has some of the best all inclusive resorts and beaches!
I recommend: Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, Bavaro area |

I would strongly suggest the Dominican Republic. (Punta Cana) It has Beautiful Beaches very affordable and the natives ae very freindly. Just dont venture out off the resot grounds to much, as in any far waway country. For Family Fun try Suncape property, or adult Paradisus Punta Cana, or Secres Excellence. Have been twice and is highly recommended |

You could try Barbados!
That country is paradise! Also, has so much to offer. You can take a tour bus to see the whole island!
So much to do, so much to see! The nightlife is GREAT! Check Harbour Lights (http://www.harbourlightsbarbados.com/ ), Boatyard (http://www.theboatyard.com/ ) and St. Lawrence Gap (http://www.thegapbarbados.com/ ),(http://www.barbados.org/stlaw.htm ).
St. Lawrence Gap has not only clubs, but restaurants, hotels, etc.. Such as The Ship Inn (http://www.shipinnbarbados.com/ ), Reggae Lounge, etc.!
Bridgetown, its capital, is known for duty-free shopping ranging from shoes to clothes to jewellery to books.
The beaches are fabulous, try Accra (known as Rockley Beach), Maxwell, Miami/Enterprise.
The people are friendly, some food are different (if you always want to try something different, you can try Fridays in Oistins (a town known for its fish market).
If interested, you can check out The Barbados Museum (http://www.barbmuse.org.bb/ ). Like I said, there's so much to see in this whole island. You can try some cruises such as Jolly Roger (http://www.tallshipscruises.com/ ).
You can also check out Atlantis Adventures (http://www.atlantisadventures.com/barbados.cfm ), Harrison's Cave (http://www.harrisonscave.com/ ), among other places, if this have sparked your interest, you can check out for more information below:
http://www.barbados.org/

If you are in need of cheapest accommodation out there and not care about luxury but at least clean, then I suggest Pegwell Inn Guest House, it's close to amenities (across the street is Southern Plaza), public transportation (right at the road) - a big bus to go into Bridgetown or Speightstown, maybe a minibus but for sure, a route taxi (route 11) that goes into the capital and all costs $1.50 BDS) - you could even take a taxi but it's expensive), beaches, and within walking distance, internet cafe (if it's still there), laundromat, post office, restaurants, pharmacy.
For an all-inclusive, try http://barbados.org/allinclusive_vacations.php and you could check for reviews if needed - http://www.tripadvisor.com/
Hope this helps. |

Treasure Beach, Jamaica. Laid back, out of the way, not many tourists and safe. Not expensive like the resort areas either. We have been to Jamaica 3 times and this is my favorite place on the island. www.treasurebeach.net |

I've only been to the Dominican Republic and Antigua but I highly recommend Dominican. The resort was amazing (in Puerto Plata) and there were so many tours to go on to see the city and countryside. |
