I would strongly suggest you work with a travel pro ( like me ! ) to help you plan your wedding , it's WAY too important to leave anything to chance . I vacation yearly ( every May ) in Jamaica with my wife for our Anniversary & absolutely love the Island , especially Negril - it's our favorite place on earth ! We have witnessed plenty of destination weddings down there , and in 2 years we will celebrate our 25th Anniversary by re-marrying on the beach in Negril . As for your wedding , if you live anywhere but the west coast , flights to Hawaii will be VERY pricey because in the last couple of months , 3 airlines who service Hawaii have gone bankrupt , so the others charge top dollar because of demand . You will need to find out how many people plan on going to your wedding , and what the age range will be ( will there be any children ? ) ; once you have that information , you can pick the perfect resort to host your wedding . I have never been to Hawaii, but I have been to Jamaica alot. Actually I have been there already 4 times this year and going back in August!!! So I say JAMAICA!

The RIU in Ocho Rios is a great place for weddings. They can be as cheap as $1000 there. You can personalize from there by additional decorations, a steel drum band, more photography, additional options for meals and so on and as you add on items your price goes up from there. I have been to the RIU Ocho Rios several time and seen many weddings, they were all great. (as a side note, my boyfriend works there and we have decided when we get married, we are going to have our JA part of the wedding there too!!!)

Chandlyn, the wedding planner is awesome. You just meet with her 2 days before and tell her everything you want and she does it. You can get married on the beach gazebo, get extra flowers, a runner, the steel drum band, hor'dervs and even release doves at the end of the ceremony. It is so beautiful. I love JA and go back about every 6 weeks!!! Ochi is a great place - I believe you will love any resort you go with. I am just bias to the RIU. If you are a tripadvisor reader - you might get some good ideas from there too.

Hi. My daughter was married at Sandals Negril in Jamaica. It was a great wedding/honeymoon. Everyone there was so kind and worked very hard to be sure her day was very special. It was certainly an easy process. Much less stressful than doing it yourself and I'm sure it's much less expensive too. No children are allowed there but, right next door is Beaches and it's a short walk (or taxi) for them to be at the wedding. It's also cheaper for your guests who want to save a few bucks.

If you haven't already done so, may I suggest that you check out tripadvisor.com. You will find comments from people who have been there or any other places your interested in. It will give you a good idea which resorts will suit you.

If you go to Jamaica then you have to walk up Dunn river falls. You start at the sea and walk inland up waterfalls and through some amazing scenery. I did it on New Years day and the memory will stay with me forever

what are you doing really ,get educated so you dont get takn for a ride and how irresponsible of you to even say oh either or thats where im getting married ,wow ,so clueless what now do some research ,and what everyone supposed to fly somewhere now ,how about this have it in the states ,a small one and then take that money and go to both places for honeymoon ,i guess your man is made of money .do some work girl and look into it
