I went there back in 95 and i can tell you this, unless a lot has changed unless you love snorkeling and just being with your significant other, there was not a lot to do on the British side of the islands. the people were great and the island's were quite and kind of desertie. if i recall right there is a place called the bath's were you can swim in the cave's, which was all right. we had rented a boat, with my aunt and uncle who had visited may times, but all we did is sail around there did not seemed to be a lot to do unless you drank or liked the water, which was awesome and the snorkeling was great, well it has been 10 years so maybe things have changed. hope you have fun, we did enjoy our self's even with the lack of stuff to do. but this will not be like a Cancun spring break crowd this will be married couples, or just couples i did not see a lot of party people every one hung out on there boats.

Hi. What to do. Well living here all my life I normally say theres nothing to do. But there actually is! If you come in early August, u'll make it in time for our Festival parade and Jouvert. Jouvert is dancing in the street from about 4 in the morning til like 9am. That will be the morning of August 7th. Also later that day at around noon, u can watch our Parade until about sundown. Lots of food and drink all around. The 7th to the 9th are holidays here, and all we do is PARTY!

There are a few good clubs around that you can visit. Very nice. You can also take a tour of some of our islands. On Tortola, you can visit some of our historic sites, like Mount Sage (the highest peak, with a trail.) and various forts around the island. On full moons, there are to large moonlight parties. One in the east, and one in the northwest.

On our neighboring island of Virgin Gorda, you can visit the world renowned Baths. These are giant boulders formed from volcanic activity pertruding the sea floor. Lots of nice beaches and restaurants over there as well.

Theres lots to do. Please visit the links I provided as they have lots more info.

I've been to Virgin Gorda & Peter Island (both right across from Tortola)... you need to see the Baths at Virgin Gorda & spend a day or afternoon on Jost Van Dyke at Foxy's & listen to him sing...
The great part about the BVIs is that there is not a lot to do... no big tacky cruise ships or big neon signs like some tourist places. Smaller hotels & inns...
Great lobster.

I am going to be there in the first 3 days of August. If you will be there Aug 1st or 2nd email me and I will give you more info as to where the best parties are and maybe we can hang out....I hang out with locals who I know really well. I also do a lot of snorkeling ...You can take a ferry to Annegada for the day. My email is the same as my UN with @yahoo.com on the end. If you are there during a full moon you have to go to the Bomba Shack in Carrot bay. You will not regret it. There is also a bar called the Batcave in Bowers bay..."rockin" Have fun....

Tortola is largest of the BVI's,Visit the national park,Sage Mountain. Josiah's Bay,embark on sailing adventures in the south from Nanny cayand Road Harbour.

TINKERTOY ..... the 1 & only
I was just there last year on a cruise ship and didn't find anything exciting to do. The town where we docked didn't have much in it and unless you go to a beach there is not much there.

Tortola is the base for traveling the Islands in a sail boat. The Sir Francis Drake Channel is right outside Road Town. I will recommended to rent a sail boat in The Moorings and plan day trips to Norman and Peter Island. If you want to stay overnights sail to the Baths on Virgin Gorda or the Bitter End. A night in Marina Cay is a good choice. Try also Just Van Dike Island at the north of Tortola. Remember that is you want to go to Saint John you need to make a stop at the customs house.
If you don't like sail boats there are regular ferry to Virgin Gorda and Saint John. You also can rent a car and go to the beaches at the north coast of Tortola, they are beautifully.

MRewak
definetely check out Cane Garden Bay in Tortola and The Baths in Virgin Gorda.
