I am a U.S. Citizen planning to travel to Cuba, But?

If I go through Cancun I will get a stamp in my passport for entering and I will get another stamp when coming back from Cuba to Cancun. Wouldnt this look obvious that I left Cancun and came back????

I recently did the Cancun-Havana-Cancun route. Mexico will stamp when you come in and when you leave, I think. Depending on the customs agent you get, Cuba may or may not stamp. You can ask them not too, and it is my understanding that most will oblige your request with no hesitation. They will probably stamp a small piece of paper and staple that into your passport. When you leave, they will rip it out.

Make sure you don't have any plane ticket stubs that say Havana stuck in your passport or anything. The US customs/immigration people will ask what you were doing in Mexico.

Who cares if your not trying to hide something.

Mexico and Canada are the main countries people use as the 3rd travel country to Cuba. Cuba will not stamp your passport and Canada won't stamp your passport...I believe Mexico won't either.
It seems most countries these days don't really stamp passports. They're needed really just for identification and travel.
As someone mentioned, don't leave paper trails. Be careful about bringing back souvenirs that are obviously Cuban. It's easier through Mexico to bring something back than through Canada because Mexican souvenirs can be similar, such as leather, silver, shell jewellery, etc...as long as there is NOTHING that says CUBA on the souvenir...or receipts.

You passport situation should be fine.

NOPE... you could be getting an entry visa stamped on your passport if you entered Mexico from ANY country... not just Cuba... and I have never had my passport stamped when entering Mexico, but things may have changed in the last year so that may not be true any longer.

As long as you don't have any CUBAN PRODUCTS on you... such as cigars or rum... you should be OK.

I heard that if you're going to cuba from the united states then you won't be able to come back. my mom was born and raised in cuba, but she came to america because of fidel castro and we never went there on vacation because we wouldn't be able to come back to america.
