Been to both places and I can say Jamaica is by far the better of the stops. Cozumel was really hurricane damaged and wiped out a lot of the area. Went snorkeling and it was really fun - saw sting rays, & a sea turtle. Great choice. In Jamaica a lot of people chose the Dunn's River Falls. We went to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville in Negril. A great spot to enjoy the music and just relax on the beach for awhile. It all depends on how active you choose to be. With all the choices, there is something sure to please all of you! |

I'M NOT A FAN OF JAMAICA, BUT IN COZUMEL BY ALL MEANS TAKE A JEEP TOUR ON THE DUNES. YOU GET TO DRIVE YOUR OWN JEEP OVER THE DUNES AND DOWN SANDY TRAILS TO SOME INTERESTING RUINS AND THEN STOP FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS FOR LUNCH AND SWIMMING, THEN YOU DRIVE BACK. IT'S COOL TO DRIVE IN COZUMEL. THIS WAS ONE OF THE FUNNEST THINGS I'VE EVER DONE. |

If you port in Ochi, stay away from the Taj Mahal. Such touristy places like that take away from the jamaicans, since they don't own any of that stuff. It is all ran by foriegn companies. Go to the local markets. Margaritaville is overpriced, and again, not the real Jamaica. Turn left from the port dock. Keep walking you will meet alot of real people there. GO TO DUNNS RIVER FALLS! Best ever! |

Cosumel swim with dolphins the kids will love it and will remember it forever. I did this with my now 16 yr old son when he was 9. With regards to Jamaica it depends upon which port your ship is going to be in Dunns River Falls are great, there are so many things to do there. The Jamiacan tourist board will gadly send you free info.. I have been there a couple of times its the most beautiful place. People are friendly and loving. You did not mention which cruise lines your going on.. some cruise lines have childerens programs others do not. also its way cheaper to purchase at a mass merchandiser like Target things like snorkle gear get the fins and mask and the tube thing for each person in my experience it costs at least 20 usd to rent them per person and the kids could pratice using them in a local swimming pool before you leave and be comfortable. Sorkling is great in both locations. Oh Rafting down the Martha Brea (I am sure i did misspell this) but its fun not for hyper childern though. Take lots of sunscreen and books for ship board when there is down time. Of course there is lots of swimming on board and eating. have a great cruise |

In jamaica theres lots to see, such as Dunn's Falls in Ocho Rios, where the first James Bond movie was filmed. At the falls you get to climb them[or just watch], which is a little scary at first, but you get the hang of it. They also have a tour where you get to swim with dolphins. My best tip is make the cruise worth your while and use everything aboard the ship such as seeing the shows, and the food.! |
