You can also go on a tour of where Bob Marley grew up. It's about an hour drive, but the scenery is amazing! We rode in a large open back jeep. It was a very cool excursion.

the best and most different excursion I've been on in jamaica is in Falmouth(about 1 hr. from ocho towards MoBay)its a night trip to the luminous waters AMAZING the water actually has the same composition as firefly's so as you go through the water it lights up you can run your finger through as the boat is moving and streams of light come off them they even stop so you can swim in it its supposed to have healing properties i not sure about that but its truly is a wonder!

Ocho Rios is amazing.. I live in Jamaica so thats probably my bias :)
but there is Dunns River falls, Prospect Plantation, Chukka Adventures.. Green Grotto, Fern Gully, its a definate must visit

Dunn's River falls is commercialised but still a great experience. You've also got Dolphin Cove nearby where you can swim with dolphins - By the time you add up all the extras it is expensive but still a great experience. (They have also have a short 'jungle' walk there but watch out for the snake pit it smells absolutely horrible!) The pony trek through the plantation is quite pleasant but very tame if you're an experienced rider. You can also take a helicopter trip over the surrounding area which i didn't do but is probably worth a go.

Dion knows her stuff ! She pretty much covered the tourist things, and as was mentioned, theres a helicopter ride on the left side of the road as you enter Ocho Rios. Theres also an ATV tour & mountain bike tour as well as horseback riding at Chukka Cove which is near Runaway Bay, about 15 minutes from Ochi. I think they run a canopy tour too, and theres a new attraction in Ochi thats similiar with a canopy tour. Theres also jet ski rental at the beach in Ocean Village shopping plaza. And theres a bamboo raft tour on White River in Ochi near exchange.

You picked a great detination, Ocho Rios is a great city, with lots of shopping & eating. Very safe no matter where you go there, and because its small, everything is easy to get at.

To I prefer Ocho Rios rather than Montego Bay. Go to Dunns River falls since they have the falls and the beach. Also try Dolphins Cove.

Shaw Park Botanical Gardens and Waterfall.
Smaller that Dunn but not so crowded, it's 25 acres of tropical paths through beautiful tropical flowers and forest.

White river tubing or rafting.
Blue Mountain Bicycle Tour
Snorkeling, one of my favorites.
I enjoy just walking around the small center of town, exploring, meeting people, the open markets.

You will love Ocho it is a great place we have been there 4 times stayed in negril but went to dunn river and loved it Have a great time !!

Jamaica is fantastic. I was not far from there - in Runaway Bay. There are lots of excursions and activities:
Dunns Falls - Fantastic - don't miss it.
Sting Ray City - A wonderful experience
Dolphin Cove - Expensive but a must do
Blue Lagoon - Gorgeous
River Tubing - Great fun
Rafting on Martha Brae - Take mosquito repellent! OK if you like that sort of thing
Horse Riding in the Sea - Really good
