DONT WORRY CHARLOT , PEOPLE DIE IN PUERTA PLATA EVERY DAY AT EVERY TIME OF THE YEAR AND HURRICANES ARE NOT THE LEADING CAUSE OF IT , AND , CHANCES ARE THAT YOU WILL BE ONE OF THOSE THAT GETS OUT OF OZ WITHOUT HAVING HAD A RESORT FALL ON YOU FROM THE ALMOST NON EXISTANT HURRICANES IN THAT REGION OF THE COUNTRY . BUT , AS I TYPE , IM WAITING TO HERE WHAT IKE DID WHEN HE KISSED THE PLATA AREA . IT COULD BE SERIOUS . I LIVED IN P.P FOR 2 YEARS AND IT TAKES ONLY A BAD THUNDER STORM TO BRING THE ROW BOATS IN THE STREETS . HEY , ONLY GOD KNOWS THE FUTURE AND HE CONTROLS THE WEATHER (, EVEN IF WE DO THINK THE WEATHER CHANNEL KNOWS MORE . ) MY ADVICE TO EVERY ONE THAT HAS YOUR FEAR OF GETTING SWALLOWED UP BY A CAT 5 IS TO WAIT UNTIL HURRICANE SEASON ENDS AND THEN COME TO PARADISE . YES , IT COSTS MORE BUT YOULL HAVE MORE PEACE OF MIND . I MEAN , DO YOU REALLY WANT TO SPEND YOUR VACA WORRYING ABOUT A STORM ? .... Go and have a great time. Puerto Plata is a beautiful place and if you go with an open mind you'll have a fantastic time I promise!
Now the storms have gone you'll be able to enjoy the great weather that I'm sure they'll have!
Don't forget to go horse riding at Lancho Lorilar.. its fantastic..Highlight of my holiday!! Wonderful experience enabling me and my family to experience the real Dominican Republic...

I went to puerto plata last year in sept and the weather was lovely, boiling throughout the day, then at 3 without fail it would chuck it down for like half and hour, it was lush, you were so hot it was a relief then the sun would be out again within seconds. I love the place enjoy yourself xxxxx |
