I am going to san juan, puerto rico on April 12th. What is the weather like this time of year? Rain?

Don`t worry about the rain too much, we have been having some rains but mostly passing rain systems. You may get some strong showers every now and then but they don`t last much at all. Besides some rain if you`re going to the beach I recomend one with wave breakers because the waves are high. El Escambron Beach, La Playita Del Condado and Isla Verde in Carolina are the most calm in the Metropolitan area. Stay away from the beaches near the Marriot they are very rough and there are a lot of rocks ( The area is reputedly haunted and a lot of people drown there). Try to go to Old San Juan, there are lots of art galleries, local artisans,pubs, discoteques, shops, jewelry stores, restaurants, live music, local food like pinchos (shishkabobs), bacalaitos (big flour biscuit with "bacalao", codfish pieces in it). The local food and pastries are different and delicious. Oranges are in season and vendors sell them on the side of some roads, you can get the cheap. Anyway don`t worry about the rain come down have fun and enjoy your stay.

its very hot like 90 degrees, but when May start always rain like for 3 days.

Not really... there are some days when its like that but the weather is usually like that all year round.. remember its a topical island.. so it rains for a few hours then out of no where it becomes very sunny

At this moment, these past days, it have been raining every morning, not a strong rain, and it stops around 7 in the morning and the sun starts to shine and the heat wakes me up every time. So don't worry you'll have nice beach weather mixed with a morning breeze that is not cold at all. Take care, Raul

As of now, the skies during the day are clear, it is sunny and warm. The nights in San Juan by the hotels are cool because of the Ocean Breeze. The forecast on tv, Canal 4 WAPA, Canal 2 Telemundo and Canal 11 Tele-Once, did anounce some rain, but it will be disperce and light. But as for heavy rain, that is not expected. Have a nice stay and enjoy the sun.

no, you should have pretty good weather. usually light rain around dawn and dusk. Im going there in a couple months have fun!. also that is my birthday! :)
