Coral Costa Caribbe in Juan Dolio
Don't go here, I was there last week.
Real garbage, old, rotten beds and a ripoff. Wanted to change to only one day because I was rolling off the bed it was so bad and they only were going to refund 50% of my money.
I will NEVER stay at a Coral Hotel again. |

In Puerto Plata I would choose either the Gran Ventana, Iberostar Costa Dorada or any of the Riu resorts (Bachata, Merengue, Mambo). In Punta Cana any of the Iberostar resorts, Riu resorts, Ocean Blue, Magestic Colonial, Dreams. |

I personally really liked the Bavaro Princess. Completely all-inclusive. Lots of restaurants to choose from, gorgeous rooms and beautiful landscaping and animals all throughout the resort. |

I'd recommend RIU Mambo in Bahia Mamon (Puerto Plata). Its a fantastic hotel and not overpriced either.
The staff, entertainment, food choice, pool and beach are all fantastic and the people there honestly can't do enough for you.
Theres tonnes to see and do - a bus ride into town doesn't take very long and horse riding, water sports, quad biking and shops are right on your doorstep.
The security is fantastic (not that its needed, we didn't have any problems) and the entertainment staff are the best I have ever met in my life (and I have travelled a lot).
The hotel has 2 sister hotels next door.. Riu Merengue and Riu Bachata. They too are fantastic hotels and if u stay at Riu Mambo u are allowed u go 2 both of these hotels for drinks, lunch, ice cream, alcohol drinks etc.. The only thing ur not allowed 2 do is have ur main evening meal there.. but U have so much choice in ur actual hotel Riu mambo that isn't a problem as theres the main room serving a buffet of meats, salads, vegetables, carverys, endless breads, fruits, cakes etc and then theres the al acarts (steak house & italian foods) which are fantastic.
Theres also a pool bar at lunch time serving snacks, pizza, burgers, hot dogs, salads, sandwhiches etc.
The hotel is the best I have stayed in ever. The rooms are nice, all the hotel is nicely decorated. Everythings close together not all spaced out.. none of its high rised so looks nice.... the pools cleaned everyday, even the beach is!! Theres also a pool bar for drinks when ur at the bar...... it only serves beer and soft drinks (no cocktails etc) but it saves u going frm the beach back upto the hotel.
I highly recommend the RIU chains. To see more reviews of the hotel please type into Google.. 'Riu Mambo hotel reviews' and u'l see real reviews from real people who have experience Riu Mambo first hand and recently. I have been twice now and will return..
Oh and theres also a disco on the complex (which ofcourse is part of ur all inclusive package.. so u dont need 2 pay extra for drinks.) People from mambo, merengue and bachata all go there so u see lots of different faces and the djs play good songs (and take requests if its not ur cup of tea)!
I hope you'll look into it because honestly, I had the best time of my life and I have travelled to various places in the Caribbean and the DR for that matter. Puerto Plata and Riu Mambo are by far the best. Not only for families, but singles/couples also.
I am 19 years old and went with friends and family. All of us absolutely loved it from 60yr old grandad & grandma to my dad whos 40, me whos 19 and bro n sis whos 12 & 5. Riu Mambo honestly does cater for everyone..and the evening shows..........do not miss them! :) |

In Dominican Republic? The last place i stayed at was the LTI Beach Resort in Punta Cana. The resort itself was pretty decent and the beaches were beautiful <3 |

If you go to Puerto Plata, just look for the Iberostar hotel, it is located in Costa Dorada, just 8 min from the town and a 5 star resort.
