I am looking to go to Jamaica in March, 5 months from now. Should I book now or wait to see if prices drop?

You'd be best off to book now, if you're talking about traveling in March. Deals are few and far between for that time period and with there being less lift to Jamaica, the flights are going to fill up faster than normal. The fuller the flights the more they charge. The air rate won't go down between now and your travel date; it will continue to creep up. The land rate may go down, but the nice thing is that in 90% of the bookings, you are price protected. If the price of the land goes down between now and then, you can claim the savings and get the lower rate. You will already have the low air rate locked in, so you'll be set. And, if the resort price goes up, you'll be ahead of the game because you would have booked at the early booking rates that are currently offered. You have nothing to lose by booking early and have the peace of mind that everything is set as well as the savings offered for the early booking. Just make sure your travel agent books you on a package that has price protection (most do). Enjoy!

I would book now. I've not seen prices drop and it may be that if you wait there won't be any flight availability.

It depends on what airline you trying to take...personally I dont like Spirit, but they have cheaper flights and if you wait I garautee you will find a good deal with them....I went in August and paid 150 for my ticket...and waited until the week before to purchase it!! I guess I was just lucky...but Spirit charges for every bag, and everything else...

A very good strategy is to keep checking at different days and times every week and watch the trend of the fares. If you notice that they are going up consistently; it's time to buy. If they're going down, continue to watch until they start going up again.

some tour vendors have sales now. I would look into it. You may get what they call an early-booking discount.

ITs a 50/50 answer....YOu can get great Jamaica Deals right now but its hard to see what will happen come the new year....IF you want send me a message and ill get your info on all the upcoming sales for jamaica trips
