Antigua is a little piece of paradise . ANTIGUA has 365 LOVELY beaches, warm, friendly, inviting accommodating people. Delicious local dishes, lots to see and do. Check out http://www.antiguanice.com and see for yourself.

Lovely sites, hikes, explore the coral reefs - you can feed the fish. Get a taste of the night life - clubs, etc... so much so much so much..... Oooh I forgot to mention the Sunsets....... breath-taking and the moonlight sky with the stars all aglow...... http://www.adventureantigua.com/...

Oh dear, why aren't people rushing forward to recommend their favourite islands to you? I visited St Marteen briefly last month and it did look a good place for a peaceful life with a reasonable amount of entertainment . I liked the place and the beaches were certainly easily accessed. Like the rest of the Caribbean, the all important factor is your budget. Here are some deals. http://lodging4vacations.com/st-martin/resorts-

Enjoy your trip!

I'd suggest Antigua or Aruba if you want beaches and a bit of nightlife. Haven't been to St Maarten, although I considered it. I'm off to Grenada / Carriacou next weekend but although they've got the beaches (I'm going for five days of snorkelling) I don't think either has that much in the way of nightlife for two 26 year olds.

Try Jamaica. It is a very fun country and the people there are nice.

St Marteen is very nice but a lil too small for my taste. I would say "Nay". It is very poor with many roads not driveable. You could circle the whole island in a couple hours. Plus St Marteen has a lot of closed beachs--access only to those staying in the hotel.

I love St Thomas. St Thomas is very busy with tons of things to do. The Meagan's Bay side is more quiet and less touristy. Plus you can easily go to different islands from there and they have a Kmart so that if you forget something you can easily buy it on the island. And it's very safe (unlike Jamaica) for 2 females traveling alone.

I'd also say St Lucia, Antigua, or Barbados. Barbados had a fabulous nightlife and the beaches were gorgeous. It is a lil far though. Don't know where you can get a flight there. But boy did they have a nightlife.

Puerto Rico is nice if you stay away from San Juan. I wasn't able to get out of San Juan while I was there but the pictures looked nice. Not much of a nightlife if you don't know the place though. I had a friend go to Costa Rica and Dominican Republic and both had a blast on their trips. Surfing, great beaches, the dollar goes a long way.

Personally for me--I'd go to Cozumel or St Thomas. Both had so much to do that I could spend a week there without getting bored. I loved both of them and have gone back a couple times. I actually will pick a cruise that goes there again even though I've been there several times. Each time I do something completely different. But an island in the Caribbean I don't think you can go wrong. I mean they all have easy access to beaches and they all have "some form" b/c you'll be staying at a hotel or resort, which usually provide their own.

I don't think you can go wrong but I'm casting my vote for St Thomas and Cozumel.

St Marten is a wonderful island. The best part is that you can visit other islands during your stay. You can make a day trip to Anguilla, which has the most beautiful whitest sand I have ever seen. You can also go to St Barts for the day and celebrity watch. Lastly there is a short canoe trip to pinel island. This island is like giligans island, very small with 1-2 shops and 1-2 restaurants. It is a total day to half day trip but really worth it. St Marten has a French and Dutch side that you can easily travel to with a rental car. You will like St Marten it is a little adventure yet relaxing.

Have fun planning!
