I am visiting Grand Cayman for one day, what should I do?

I'm interested in anything, especially if it sounds odd. Despite enjoying it, the last thing I want to be doing is lying on a beach.
Thanks.

Most people, if they only have one day, opt for the trip which takes you to the turtle farm and Hell and Sting Ray City. I think that the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park (where you will see the blue iguana, unique to Cayman) and Pedro Castle at the other end of the island are far more interesting, but few tour operators are disposed to organise tours there. However, don't neglect the town. There are some interesting buildings, including the museum, the post office, Elmslie Church and the library. Look above you when you enter them and you will see that the ceilings are boat shaped. That is because they were built by a man who knew more about building boats than ceilings, so made his ceilings in the form of upturned boats. But they have withstood some notable hurricanes!

Go to the Turtle farms and then take a tour of the island.

Swim with the stingrays. Captain Marvin's or Nativeway both have trips, as do many others. I've used both of these and they were both great. [They both have websites.]

Stingray City - the above link will give you lots of reviews and the various companies that offer tours/charters. Lots of good advice on the linked site. Take a smaller boat if you can. The boat takes you out via a good place for snorkelling; then on to the 'city' actually a sandbar where the fishermen have gutted and cleaned their fish for many years. The stingrays have fed off the rubbish and become used to swimming around the people. Now the tourists are given pieces of bait to feed to the stingrays by hand, the rays will 'sit' in your arms etc. then off to a reef to snorkell with sharks. Between Nov and April the boat may stop whilst the crew dive for conch - the keep the meat and then give away the shells. A great day out.
If this isn't your thing then a helicopter trip round the island or a guided tour/hike through the Botanic Park, iguanas and parrots and depending on the season lots of flowers (best around May/June).
The dive schools are some of the best.

Stingray city and drinking on the beach. In that order. Or not.

Take a trip to Rum point, Stunning place also go to the oppposite end of the island (not a long trip, bout 20 mins or so ) and visit "Hell" where you can even have your postcards etc postmarked Hell, cant really describe Hell but you will be amazed when you get there.Have a great time
