I need to know if the bahamas have ever had a natural disaster?

we dont have natural disasters. we do have hurricanes though but they are infrequent. we havent had a really serious hurricane since hurrican andrew. if u are planning to come here (the bahamas) over the summer, just check the weather forecast days in advance. that's all. nothing to worry about. but we dont have natural disasters on the level of how asian countries do. our houses are very sturdy because they are made out of blocks of cement. the most we wud have is flooding. nothing detrimental.

Yes they do but its not like theres a hurricane every day the hurricane season, lasts (officially) from June 1 to November 30. But there is no cause for panic. More tropical cyclones, tornadoes, twisters pound the U.S. mainland than The Bahamas. Hurricanes are actually fairly infrequent here, and when one does come, satellite forecasts generally give adequate advance warning so that precautions can be taken.

If you're heading for The Bahamas during the hurricane season, you might want to visit the National Weather Service at www.nws.noaa.gov.

er well you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere that hasn't, so in the course of history, i'm sure it has.
