I want to go on a vacation in the Caribbean !?
I want to go somewhere to the Caribbean but my family has to work and dont want to spend a lot of money when Florida is just like the Caribbean and we live closer to Florida and I just wanted to know is Florida is a good place to go for a teen to have fun and is it like the Carribean??
Sorry pumpkin but I think you are waaaayyy off the mark. Florida is not like the caribbean. You think Florida (because it is in the U.S.) is safer??? The U.S. safe? Bizarre. Most islands in the caribbean are very safe.
Many islands in the caribbean are actually rainforests not deserts.
Florida can be fun but it is not like the caribbean.

Hi there,
Well Florida isn't just like the Caribbean. I've live in Florida and travel the Caribbean extensively.
If you family is on a budget, why don't you call a travel professional? They don't charge for their services and you can get great information as well as prices at no additional cost to you. There are a lot of great resorts in Florida that would be good for teens and would make your family happy too. Be honest with the travel agent and tell them what your budget is. They will give you better options of what you can get the most for your money.
Good luck!

If you're in/near florida go to www.vacationstogo.com and find their 90 day ticker section. If you can wait until just days before a cruise leaves, you can get cruises DIRT CHEEP! The Caribbean is beautiful...no... BREATHTAKING! You will experience people from other cultures and see sights you can never see otherwise. Go to your local scuba shop and see if they offer PADI certificates in snorkling (they're not needed, but handy when you don't want to snorkle with someone elses feet in your face!) Then go snorkling and see a whole new world under water!

I think living here in FL it is expensive & there are some Caribbean areas that are "All inclusive" they can be on a family budget. Look into the Islands not US Protectorates. The U.S. Virgins & Puerto Rico are part of the USA system so they seem to be more expensive. Remember if you come to FL June to Nov it is hurricane season. The beach areas here are the most expensive at any time. Try St Martin, Grenada, or Aruba. Also look into a family cruise, where you get a family room and have a ball and watch out for sun burn.

Yes. It is also still in the United States which is safer. Florida is tropical. Most of the islands in the Carribean are dessert and do not have the pretty palm trees and pretty tropical island feel that you are wanting. Florida is awesome, you will have a good time.
