There are a handful of nude beaches in Jamaica but that is all. By far most beaches require clothing. In a few cases women will be top free but not all that often. The resorts that have nude beaches make a point of keeping them separate from the rest of the beach goers.
Go to TripAdvisor.com to look for a resort. In the amenities section you will find out whether the resort in question has a nude beach or not. But again, if it does it will be very separate from the clothed beaches. At that site you can learn a lot about every resort on the island and can find the perfect resort for you.
Rather than making the nude beach the most important factor in your resort selection do some thinking about what else you want, or don't want, in a resort. For example, do you want children to be at your resort? Do you want a relaxing resort, a romantic resort, or a fun resort? You can determine the answers to your questions about resorts at TripAdvisor.com. |

All beaches here are clothes required except at the Hedonisms and they too have clothes beaches. Others do like Couples create a spot in a far corner for those who so inclined. |

There are designated "nude" beaches in Jamaica...I would say there are more "regular" beaches there vs nude beaches.
Go to Jamaica - you'll have a blast!!! |

Plenty my friend. As far as I know nude beaches are only at Hedonism I/II/III. We stayed there at whitehouse and can't say I saw no one nude, but no one nude on the beach. Only nudity I saw was in a poor village people were washing in the river.
I dunno if 'clothing was required' but I assume so? Dunno. Sandals white house was a Couples only resort so I'd think they'd of done it if it was allowed (since everyone was over 18) or not but all the people I saw were clothes. |

Public Nudity is unlawful in Jamaica. There may be hotels such as Hedonism (which is on private property) and functional nudity where people bathe in rivers, but the general rule is that this nudity IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. In the rare case that it appears to be allowed, its usually just a matter of discretion on the part of the authorities.
If you tried to go nude at Sandals, you would be quietly asked to get some clothes on (although you could get away with it if you were in a more hidden part of the beach and no one complained). |

Yes, infact the majority of beaches here aren't nude beaches and most resorts that have nude beaches alo have non-nude (or "prude") beaches on the same property. |

I spend 3 years in Jamaica and most beaches were completely clothed. Ocassionally you'd see some female topless. If you head for Negril there are sections of the beach that are nude but most are not. Wish I'd had the opportunity to see more nude beaches but they are mainly at resorts that so state in their advertisements. |

Not every beach in Jamaica are nude beaches. There are many towns that have regular, good ole' bathing suit beaches.
I believe the nude beach is in Negril. I stayed in Ocho Rios and didn't have to take a stitch of clothing off.
Have fun! |

honestly you would be hard pressed to find a nude beach here... (no pun intended :) ) they are mostly private.
However is you go to a public beach (or a stand pipe for that matter) and see little children bathing naked... culturally we dont consider that nudity... go figure! |

Most beaches in Jamaica are just like regular beaches everywhere. You should wear a swimsuit or you will stick out like a sore thumb.
Nipahc - We do not label our towns/communities "villages" in Jamaica. What you saw by the river were just ordinary people washing their clothes and bathing. It is a common practice amongst Jamaicans who live in the country areas as often they live in areas that are too remote for them to get water from the city. Naturally if they are bathing they would be in the nude. |

There are very few clothing optional beaches in Jamaica and most of those are specific to certain resorts.
take a look at the website of the resort you plan to stay. |

Heck yea.. almost ALL of the beaches require clothing. Jamaican ppl who have their heads on right and appreciate their culture dont tolerate nude beaches. You'll find nude beaches where the majority of the ppl are white lol...sorry to say but its true (no racism intended) esp. in places like Negril where foreigners bring their foolishness to the island. However dont be surprised if you see our Maroon ppls of the country bathing in the water...it's an ancient practice since the days of the first African slaves and Tainos.
BTW Maroon is referred to the Jamaican population who are direct descendants of the Spanish freed African slaves mixed with the Taino/Arawak/Caribe Indians....basically our ancestors...only they're still alive...lol. |
