I can recommend this site, www.icelolly.com, from November 4th they have some holidays in Holguin Cuba from £589 all inclusive and some holidays in Dom Rom for about a hundred pound cheaper, but they are for 14 nights, the only 10 night holidays they do are mostly Egypt and Florida, worth a look though I suppose, I can recommend Cuba, a beautiful place with beautiful people, fantastic beaches and fabulous oceans, hope where ever you choose you have a brilliant time, good luck. |

We went to St Lucia for our honeymoon and loved it. The resort (Anse Chastanet) was one of those nearer to the airport, which meant that we were away from the main tourist spots - which suited us fine! It depends what you want, really. If you want to take the boat trips etc. then you must be in the main tourist spot. We had to cancel all our planned trips because we were too far away. Although the island is really small, the roads are terrible, so choose your location carefully! We went Virgin Holidays and they were fine - although the flight was a bit grim. By the way, if you like scuba and snorkelling then definitely stay at Anse Chastanet if you can, as the best snorkelling spot on the island is just off the resort's beach! |

Unfortunately $2,000 total US isn't realistic for a 10 day trip to the Caribbean. Even doing non-all inclusive that is really stretching it. You could easily be looking at $850.00 US round trip from Heathrow to St. Lucia.
This isn't going to matter if you book on line or via the phone. Unfortunately you will need to increase your budget in order to do this. Even if you were willing to cut it down to 5 nights instead of 10, still your paying that cost for airfare.
Best of luck to you. |

the place to go is margarita island (venezuela)
good weather all year long, beautiful beaches, tons of nice hotels and resorts, of course tons of cheap acommodation options, great food, the best party of the planet, natural views that will blow your mind, the nicest people...
Since there is a exchange control, tourist can sell their dollars in the black market for a really good rate... |

Aruba...it is clean and has a high employment rate so the place isn't a total ghetto like some of the other islands. Bonaire(sp?) and Curasao(sp?) are also very nice and similar.
Here are the complete ghetto dumps: Jamaica, Martenique, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, St. Thomas, St. Croix, St. Marten(sp?)...the unemplyment rate is very high at some of these places and often you have to stay at a resort to be safe...These places are nice too, but they are a bit rough around the edges...like Mexico. I have been other places too, but I can't remember...
I was in Aruba with the Coast Guard. My boss got trashed and had to get out of the cab and walk. I payed the cab driver to take one of my guys back who could ride. After, the cab driver came back and drove next to us stating that he didn't want us getting hit by a drunk driver. We gave him money, but he tried not to take it...The people are nice there and tourism is everything!! It was a wonderful place... |
