I am curious about why the move to PR? I moved almost three years ago from Ohio. The employment is a big issue right now as the economy is pretty tight. I was lucky to secure a government job with PR but even that is not "secure" right now. If you are going to study then things should be okay but living here is getting more expensive every day...a gallon of milk is $5.60 right now. check out www.clasificadosonline.com for employment and housing in the area. |

Well that depends on your plans and motive. If your going to study then you'll have to relocate your self near by the College in wish you decide to study. If is for work apply the same. If si only for pleasure then take a good brochure so you could see the best places around the island for vacation and then you'll decide. This is without concerning about money. Because I assume that if you can make such move, you are willing to pay any price. I'm I right? Any way good luck! |

In the metropolitan area. Close to the "tren urbano", until you buy a car. |

You might want to consider a visit there first. Employment can be a big issue, but if you are self employed and have a business that you can take anywhere- that is the best.
classificadosonline, com is a good place to start for houseing.
Good Luck!

I would get a job first! If I went, I would try to work on one of those big beautiful day trip catamarans.
My friend does it and loves it.
No, you don't have to speak fluent Spanish to get work, particulary if you're in the tourist trade. Most Puerto Ricans I know in Fajardo speak English. |

Not any different than the moves you did to the states! |

You DO SPEAK FLUENT SPANISH... right? because any sh*t job you may be able to get will require that you CAN speak Spanish.. and I don't mean the 20 words of that language that most Amerikans can speak so they can try to convince their friends that they are fluent in it.
Puerto Rico has an unemployment rate of ALMOST 20 PERCENT.. so just WHERE do you plan to GET WORK? |
