Your destiny is what ever you make it.
I was in your country many times. Love Negril, Ocho Rio, Blue Mountain coffee, your rum, people, music, the ocean, food, Blue Castle, etc.
Plan your life, live your plan. It works. Yah man.
Please note:
Not all Jamaicans are fond of saying "Yah man" after every sentence. Some may even resent it. Most places I went to "Yah Man" was said after every sentence and most of all instead of answering yes.
I also spent some quality time among Rastafarian and word irie was heard quite often where I have also learned that Jamaican language is a hybrid. Rastafarian “I-dren” (brethren) have their own language and one word that you will hear frequently is “irie”. Not so in other parts of the island.
It is important to note that there are variations to the language, depending on the region of the Island, in correlation to which Tribe in West Africa the people came from and the respective areas they settled.
English is spoken everywhere and first thing the airport cab driver will tell you is that they are driving on the right side of the road as we in North America drive on the wrong side.
Then he takes off driving on the left side just like in UK. |
