Jamaica is awesome, the people the food the music the culture the day to day living. From sea to shingin sea it sell off. But of course it might not suit you so take a months vacation here and travel around the country, stay in smaller bed and breakfasts guest houses etc so you can get a real feel of life here and then make an informed decision. |

To use the word "nice" would be an understatement. Go & sort it out it's a beautiful place. Like anywhere in the world you have to be careful at night & be sensible when it comes to safety.

Yes it is very nice.The people there are friendly and nice.You will make friends easy.The people there are not racist so do not listen to the the people that are saying that.We Jamaicans like to welcome people in our country.Yes,like any other country we have crime but it is not as bad as people say and it depends on the area.I would suggest you moving to Ocho Rios, Montegobay,even Negril ,Portland or Portmore.The country has a great night life.I should know I lived there until a year and a half when I moved to the U.S. |

you really need to go first before making such a decision,I just left there from a two week vacation to some friends homes not resorts and I wept when I had to get on the plane.If I can go and stay for the winter months from now on yes I would and I am working on just that.I have a whole new family there now they all tell me to come back and stay longer........it is an experience .the people are so welcoming..go see! |

Its an absolutely bloody beautiful country and as for the crime for gods sake there is crime where ever you go these days, so if it was me yeah id be gone like a shot you will love it. |

1st of all before u decide to move somewhere u might want to go there to see what its like. 2nd its not full of crime it depends on where u go just like the here there r safe places and not so safe places. dont go out lookin for crime and youll be fine. 3rd yes it is nice there. i moved from there when i was 5. whenever i go back i never want to leave. |

jamaica is a beautiful country. like anywhere you go there is crime, you cant help that. but you just have to find the right area. it is hard to find a good job in jamaica though. the best thing to do is visit and go to lots of different places in the country and decide for yourself. everybody has different taste |

I went there last month on holiday.Fine. But to live there it didn't appeal to me. Are you going to retire, then perhaps that might be different as you could live on a complex where you would be safer. If you are going to work, I don't know what you could do. Looks to me that there's a lot of unemployment there, people sitting about doing nothing, or I suppose something in tourism? The beaches and weather are fabulous. Don't know about everyday life. |

I just returned from a trip to Jamaica. I would never ever go back there even if I was offered a free trip. It was terrible in most every way you can think of. Jamaica is like one huge ghetto. The locals prey upon tourist, try to sell you everything from drugs to cheap trinkets, they will not take no....and a few were down right scary. The resorts are ok at best. The food is awful and terribly expensive. Water is terrible. Customer service is non-existant. Jamaica is a great example of paridise lost by poverty, corrupt government and social decay. I was soooo happy to get back to the US. Any of our beach areas will beat anything you might see in Jamaica by far, be less expensive and safer by a long shot. |

Jamaica is nice but you need to look into where you are to live on the island or you could end up in the parts that are bad but if you are really doubting it look into living on some of the smaller islands in the Caribbean like st kitts or the lesser known ones e.g. st martin, Saba.

a really great place to visit, if you dont leave the complex.. live there NO. you take your life in your hands once you go on the streets.. very high crime!! much safer in london, just look at london!! no what i mean... |
