First of all, congrats and I envy you, lol! The Bahamas is a great place to live once you get over sticker shock. The cost of living is high but on the upside the people are wonderful, the food is usually excellent, and the weather is nice most of the year. It gets a bit cooler around Christmas time and you do have the hurricane factor. Good luck!

Nassau is the capital of the Bahamas and is very densely populated. Since there is no sales tax in the Bahamas and most items are imported, there is a high duty tax on most food items--up to 50% more than in the United States. I don't know much about Aruba, but the Bahamas often is affected by tropical depressions and hurricanes during hurricane season. I would recommend that you are familiar with what do in case of a hurricane warning (e.g. have fresh water, batteries, know where closest shelter is).

That's great. Welcome. Well, if you're relocating because of your job, your employer should be of great assistance. Otherwise, it's just the same. I don't know much about Aruba, u the cost of living here is pretty high. Gasoline is over $4.00 p/gal and everything else is also expensive. The temperature is around 82 degrees average. Very friendly people.
Hope it helps.
