Not if she is travleing in your lap....It's called an unticketed infant and is marked on your ticket.
If you are planning on bringing a booster chair and putting her in the seat next to you then yes. |

Nope. They are an in lap infant untill 2 years old. Thats what the rules were when I worked for Airtran Airways. Make sure you say that when you make your reservation to fly. |

yes deffintely the airlines have gooteen around this during big finicall, troubles etc(it used too be they flew for nothing) with mose of your big airlines struggling under a strain, they must increase t there revenue, and yes children get charged one half the cost?? sound fair, no but hey they got too show a profitt too!! |

It depends on the airline. Most will let a child under 2 fly as a "lap child" without a ticket. However, this means that you have to hold the child on your lap during the entire flight, whether or not she gets fussy, and whether or not you get tired of it. Also, in the event of an accident or even rough turbulence, it's about as safe as riding in a car with the child on your lap instead of in a car seat. As with many parenting decisions, it's up to you to decide if that risk is big enough to be worth buying her a seat, or if the risk is small enough that you're willing to accept it. If you're willing to accept the risk, then double-check that your airline of choice allows it. |

Typically it's 2 and up that need a separate ticket. I flew with my son who was 19 months at the time and they usually put me next to an empty seat for him to rest in, but he was considered a lap passenger. It sucks for people who want to buy the ticket and put their kids in a safety seat, because the airline I went with didn't allow me to do it (who wouldn't want extra money?) |
