You won't get back Jamaican currency if you don't desire that. In all resort areas in Jamaica the goods are priced in U.S. dollars, so you pay for it in American currency and you get back the change in American currency. So cash is perfectly fine.
Plus you can easily go to a cambio and change out the currency if you wish. The rate in Jamaica is J$65 - US$1. |

Negril is upper class? lmao!
In every resort district HERE IN JAMAICA, goods and/or services are priced in both local and US currency. Even if you get change in J/can dollars, you can easily change it back in the airport on the way home. Just be smart as you would travelling to any country.
I'm sure that a tourist to any country can be overcharged if they are not careful. |

Been there, Done that. Take both
I have been there lots of times and I usually took cash.
Do not trade your American cash in at a Jamacian Bank, etc.
I'm not sure about now, but ONE US dollar used to be worth about THREE Jamacian dollars on the street down there.
Just be careful. Don't Flash your money around or you may not have it very long. |

Take my advice and take both! You will need it as it's very expensive! Ocho Rios is really nice though. |

Both, but it's good to have your money safe in the bank, and not carry a bunch of cash. If you get overcharged you can challenge it and get it overturned. Also, set it up through the internet so you can monitor it. I pesonally have my momon my bank account soif something goes wrong she has access to my money and can get it to me. It's saved me twice big time. |

I would choose both of them, abit of cash and a credit card. A credit card is alway handy overseas. |

I recommend both, as it is not safe to walk around with alot of cash on you especially in Ocho Rios, there are alot lot of pick-pockets in the tourist resort areas.
Bring enough cash to land with and pay for hotel expenses and for the rest of your stay you could use the various atms available in the area that issue all currency.
When traveling, it is best to have limited amount of cash on you as possible. Usually locals can spot tourist a miles away.
Good luck!!!!! |

take some money, a few hundred bucks, and a credit card. use the bucks for things that are not too expensive and the credit card for more expensive services. It is a good thing to monitor your bank account. |

I have been to Ocho Rios before and it's good to bring cash because they don't have atm machines in Ocho Rios. I could see if it was a upper-class part of the counrty like Negril. |
