Cuba is the sort of place you don't need to have friends to travel with, the Cubans are beautiful friendly people and there are lots of holiday makers on their own in Cuba, its a safe place to travel to and you won't be on your own for long, everyone is very friendly. |

I assume you already know about routing through Mexico City or Toronto to avoid losing your passport when you return.
Okay, change your money from Dollalrs to Euros: Castro likes Euros better, and has banned dollars. I'm sure people will still take them, but Euros are easier.
Alto means stop. If anyone yells that word, stop and do not argue.
Go to the beach, tour the better areas of Havana, and see as much as you can.
In that regard, find a taxi driver at the airport that speaks reasonable English, and try to contract with him to be your personal driver, but don't let on that you have too much money.
When in doubt, follow the Canadians. Cuba is a popular destination for Canadians, so they pretty much know their way around. |
