First off in America a hood rat and a house rat means totally different. in america a hood rat is a ghetto person and a house rat is some who does not go anywhere out of the house. So in Jamaica a hood rat is pretty much a ghetto person too and we call a " skettel". And a house rat is pretty much someone who does not have any outside fun outside of the house. |

A House Rat (here in the U.S) is a person that's always at someones house (mostly unwelcomed) who eat, sleep, drink, or nest there until you run them out. A Hood Rat is a female that's down with her life, no guy is a stranger to her anatomy and etc. Most low life guys in the Neighborhood is no better. |
