well i live in Puerto Rico, and i live in Cabo Rojo =]
its a great city very calm
its actually no problem that you dont speak full spanish, because a lot of people there understand and speak english.
my grandmother, who is from NY, moved to Mayaguez which is like 15 min away from Cabo Rojo and she barely knows any spanish and she manages to live there without any problems.
if you do decide to move to Cabo Rojo, i bet youll like it, it has wonderful beaches =]

HEY!!! I moved from Ohio to Utuado, PR and if u have any questions at all, just let me know. Everyone I know thought I was crazy for moving but I now live in paradise surrounded by beautiful mountains. What kind of internet comany do u own? Feel free to email me any questions at all! Its good that u speask some spanish b/c u will def need it. Another question to ponder is do u have money to live off of or atleast for a while? Or do u need to find a job? If so, do u have a college degree? Have you ever been to PR? You need to decide where you want to live first & when you move bring enough money to survive for a while just in case things dont go so well.

What I can tell u is that Puerto Rico is a gorgeous place. San Juan & the whole metro area is pretty expensive to live, it compares with US cities. The jobs are here however. If you live in a small town in a mountain area then you can live cheap, but a job will be very hard to come by. Actaully even in San Juan it will be hard to get a job. This is the #1 reason why people leave PR, b/c there arent many jobs. Even a billingual native with a college degree will have a hard time getting a job. If you work in the pharacuetical industry there are companies here, however some are closing. Otherwise a job in the tourism industry might work. Other than the job proble PR is a laid back paradise & a beautiful place to live. GOODLUCK!
