Barbados is not dangerous/is safe. It has a low crime rate. Just avoid guys on the beach who try to sell you drugs or stuff for money. All you have to do is use common sense and have fun! |

Not particularly dangerous, but as everywhere, crime does happen. Take the obvious precautions of not carrying too many valuables and keeping what you must carry hidden, and locking your room, and you'll be likely to escape trouble. Enjoy your holiday, it's a nice island. |

hi :)
i go on holiday to barbados every year and its perfectly safe, of course there are some parts of bridgetown but every city has its rough areas..
my bajan friend told me that there was a murder years ago and they still talk about it today, the whole island knows if there is a robbery so its very rare and safe..
barbados is amazingm you will love it

Barbados is not more dangerous that any where else. In actual fact it is very safe to compare with some places but that does not mean that you should walk around with a stack of hundred dollar bill in your hand late at night. Or with you wallet exposed in an open bag because the shoplifters will take it out.
Take the necessary precautions that you would in your own country. Do not leave valuables exposed in a car, on the beach or on a bed with an open window.
You will come across some paros (drug addicts) or homeless people on the street begging for money. You will also see people on the streets and on the beach offering things for sale. Just say no if you do not want any and be firm.
Just come and enjoy yourself and take a nice tour around the country. See some of the beautiful sites like Harrison cave, Gun Hill Signal station, Morgan Lewis Windmill, Cherry Tree Hill,Bathsheba, St John Parish Church and St James Parish Church. My husband, a cab driver took me on one of these educational tour and it was very pleasing.
You could also go to Oistins a Friday night and enjoy some grilled fish, potatoes and tartar sauce. When you are finish you see the people dancing in the open air and even shake a leg. Experience some of the most friendliest people in the world. |

Everywhere is dangerous, even the inside of your home. You can either live in a little hole under your stair case or you can take a chance and really truly live!! I've been all over the world, and nothing bad has ever happened to me. I just use common sense, carry very little money and avoid any situation that doesn't feel right. Do the same, and you'll be fine!! Now GO LIVE!! |

No Barbados is not worst than America if thats what your asking...and also period its not bad, like every country you get crime but our crime towards Tourist is VERY slimmmm!=)
You can come here and enjoy yourself to the fullest and not worry about who is out there to get you..if our country was bad with crime we wont have as much tourist as we do everyday, dont let that stop you come and enjoy yourself gril! =)
Just apply common sense to everything- dont go places that u feel may not be safe and pleaseeeeeeeee...DON'T go to the beach at night...especially the low lit ones ok?
Follow these simple instructions and you WILL be fine.
God Bless...and ENJOY! =) |

Certainly not. Obviously take precautions, don't carry large amounts of cash, expensive jewellery and cameras when out and about.
Don't go on the beach in the dark, or leave valuables showing in your car.
Its no more dangerous than at home, just don't make yourself into a target. |
