If you are going to a resort, you will meet marvellous, kind, interesting Cuban people working there.
If you visit a town, you will meet the same wonderful people. It helps if you speak even a little Spanish. Many resorts have lessons.
Main tip: you cannot use US currency, or travellers cheques or credit cards based in the US. Otherwise the tour company rep will keep you informed. |

In my opinion it's wonderful. Great beaches and people, incredible history and so much to do. Be sure to take any used but not abused running shoes, shirts, shorts and whatever else you can get into your suitcases to give away. Don't miss Havana, most tourists say it's a the highlight. I'm returning for my 9th visit on November 30th and can't wait. I've met people there who have been more than thirty times. Below are a couple of sites to check out. You go once, you'll be back. |

The most exciting country I have ever seen.
Don't be afraid Cubans are very kind and helpful. Don't use dollars you will pay an extra 8% when you exchange them and you can only use Visa when NOT processed or emitted by a
US bank, same for traveller checks. Buy Canadian $ or Euro's. If you need special medicines take enough supply with you. Don't expect the abundance of the Western world.
If you are a US citizen don't buy Cuban souvenirs such as T-shirts, cigars, rum to avoid problems with immigration in the US. I have seen a lot of beautiful islands but nothing compares to Cuba. Cuba is the max.
There still lot's to say, for more info about banks, money, immigration etc. see

All the best and have a wonderful trip |

Was there about 3 years ago on a legal U.S, People to People tour and had a great time. May go again next year. Its not commercialized like other Caribbean Islands and the people are very nice and friendly. Its not the American people they don't like, its our politicians and their bossy policies. I don't like our crooked politicians and govt. control either, so I don't blame them. |

Cuba is the safest place to visit in the world, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world is in Varadero Cuba, and the most friendly people that you could ever meet are also in Cuba.
Avoid political conversation ( remember you are going there on vacation as a tourist ), and all you want is to have a good time that's all. There is a lots of things to do, you will love it !. Take your camera and enjoy your flight. Please bring Sun Tan Lotion, the weather is beautiful but hot and the Sun is strong. Have a nice trip and I hope you are going to Varadero. |
