I GUESS THAT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT YOUR IDEA OF VACATION IS MY FRIEND ? BUT FOR THE GENERAL MAJORITYS UNDERSTANDING OF THE CONCEPT , " VACATION , NO " " FOR EDUCATION , YES ".( BUT CUBAN BEACHES ARE A DIFFERENT STORY AND ARE SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL IN THE WORLD ). ANYWAY , ONE CAN HARDLY APPRECIATE FULLY THE FREEDOMS THEY DO HAVE UNTIL THEYVE BEEN TO A PLACE WHERE THOSE SAME LIBERTIES DONT EXIST AND FOR THAT REASON ALONE ,I BELIEVE AN AMERICAN OR ANYONE LIVING IN A SO CALLED ( FREE COUNTRY) SHOULD TRAVEL TO CUBA.. WHEN YOU STAND ON THAT MALECON LOOKING NORTH , ITS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THE CRADLE OF DEMOCRACY IS ONLY A FEW MILES AWAY. ..IF YOUVE EVER SEEN BEAUTY AND THE BEAST FROM WALT DISNEY . HABANA FEELS LIKE THE ANCIENT ROYAL CITY WAITING FOR ITS PRINCE TO RIDE IN AND DELIVER IT AT ANY MOMENT FROM THE THICK DARK CLOUD OF OPPRESSION THAT PRESENTLY RESIDES OVER IT . TIME HAS LITERALLY STOOD STILL HERE . THE HISTORY IS RICH , THE ARCHITECTURE IS FASCINATING AND THE STREETS ARE ABUNDANT IN CUBAN CULTURE AND IS LIKE NO OTHER PLACE YOUVE EXPERIENCED . A TRUE CARRIBEAN JEWEL INSPITE OF ITS HARDSHIPS.( IM NOT YELLING , IM JUST REAL LAZY AT 10.AM )..... but to be fair and empathetic. i can certainly understand how a people could be offended by other people travelling to thier homeland to use it as some sex tourist , tanning salon disney land while thier countrymen are being tortured for complaining about it while his family of 5 tries to feed themselves for 1 month on 3 pounds of rice and a dozen eggs . sad but true .

the big
Yes. So good that we cubans try desperately to escape from there

Yes, it is very interesting. Have a look at http://www.fascinating-travel-destinations.com/havana-cuba.html
for more information on what there is to do and see. You will also be able to read about visas and accommodation etc here.

I enjoyed nearly a week there - it has a style all of its own. Check out Lonely Planet for a few suggestions.
