I bought beautiful amber earrings in the Dominican Republic and they were reasonable. I also bought a blue larimar pendant and it was also reasonable and pretty.

I would buy your wedding bands in your country if you want diamonds, if something goes wrong, it's local.

Dominican Republic is not known for it's diamonds. Cigars, yes.

Good Luck)

For wedding bans in gold I would suggest to buy them in your country.
If you want to by "Larimar" - "Jade" - " Amber" than you must buy it in the Dominican Republic. There are several serious/honnest stores in several places of the Dominican Republic. All depending where you will be spending your honeymoon. If you need more info, don't hesitate just ask.

Ya it is cheap. But be CAREFUL ! Buy only very expensive jewelery (the most expensive in Dominican republic is also very cheap). Cause very cheap jewelery will lose original color or will fall to pieces !
I wish you nice travel.

No, most likely you will get ripped off. Buy your jewels from here. At least you will know what you will be buying and it might come with some type of insurance/warranty.

Yes. But they may change color a bit after a week or two.

If you're talking something above 1 carrat, you should ask an international certificate. Usually there are a couple of institutions that give this in the world, you should check... Even you check there is a possibilty it's fake, it's better to know someone who already bought form there...

better quality than uk but still not cheap

I wouldn't recomend it.
ALOT of jewellery in the Dominican Republics fake so to be honest if I were you I wouldn't risk it.
When I was there on holiday I went round jewellery factories and others but I noticed the jewellery over there is actually quite expensive. Probably because the people try to rip you off for the extra tip (can't blame them). So if you do decide to, be prepared to haggle!

Good luck! and have a lovely wedding in a lovely country!

I bought a tanzinite ring there and when I can home I would have paid about the same. My suggestion would be to buy your ring here. You really never know or trust what they'll sell you down there. Congrats on the marriage.

That sounds like a racist question about an unknown destination if ever there was one?
