Cuba looks like Puerto Rico did 30 years ago... In terms of scenery, very similar although Cuba is 13 times the size of Puerto Rico. However, in terms of infrastructure, services, things to do, Cuba is limited, very underdeveloped (or is PR overdeveloped?). Many Europeans travel to Cuba and get wisked away to great resorts where Cubans are not allowed (except for employees). It is definitely a different experience, but --along with the Dominican Republic-- Cuba and PR share the same cultural background, so the "flavor" is similar.
See for yourself! |

I'm half cuban half puerto rican and I can proudly say that Puerto Rico is as pretty as Cuba but in different ways. Cuba has the enchantment of being a Caribbean Island stuck in time due the political system they embraced. Puerto Rico although more advanced and open is still virgin enough to be explored. Both have natural beauty and esplendid beaches but only Puerto Rico can offer a safe environment and night life similar to the greatest cities in the world. Sincerely, Raul |

Cuba and Puerto Rico are both of great beauty but Puerto Rico has internationally known chefs, the second most gorgeous beach in the world (Culebra), you can use the currency (dollar) and it is nor illegal to visit. Also a great airport and a rainforest (El Yunque).
And yes, no openly known communism. |

I am puertorican, and yes its beautiful and so its Cuba. But for your other question i couldn't answer it exactly. Each country have their problems, specially Cuba. But traveling to enjoy their wonders it what it counts. |

Cuba will have more natural beauty since it's not only larger but also less commercialized. The cultures are similar, or so I've been told. |

Cuba is the hottest tourist place in whole Caribbean. Everyone goes there except Americans...
1.9 million tourists visited Cuba in 2003 predominantly from Canada and the European Union, generating revenue of $2.1 billion.
As well as receiving traditional tourism revenues, Cuba attracts paying health tourists, generating revenues of around $40m a year for the Cuban economy. In 2002 more than 5000 foreign patients travelled to Cuba for a wide range of treatments including eye-surgery, neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis and Parkinsons disease, and orthopaedics. Most patients are from Latin America although medical treatment for retinitis pigmentosa, often known as night blindness, has attracted many patients from Europe and North America. |

Dude, I can't believe you said that. Whwen you go over there, don't compare Cuba and P. R. They are never the same. Cuba sucks. They are under communism. Puerto Rico is the best island in the world!!!!! |

They are very similar regarding nature and weather. The cultures are very alike as well.
But I can not say that traveling to PR is like traveling to Cubaw/o the Communism. The scenery in Cuba is very different. PR is a lot more developed, more businesses, more infrastructure, the quality of life in Cuba is very limited and low.
