Are you kidding me?

Punta Cana is beautiful! It was honestly the most beautiful place I've ever been to so far. My sister (who's a travel agent) and I stayed at the Barcelo Bavaro resort when we went this past May and we had a great time. The service was excellent, the food at the different resorts was really good and the beach was gorgeous!

However, the only thing I would warn you about - The communication from there to the states sucks so if you NEED to get in touch with anyone while you're down there, you may want to get an international cell phone.

Punta Cana is a marvelous resort area located in the east of the Dominican Republic. It is a popular destination and good choice for couples and families seeking the perfect beach and sunny days.

In Punta Cana, it’s all about the beach. The area has become a haven for vacationers who are seeking a beach chair, a tropical drink and a good read.

The beaches along the eastern coast, around Punta Cana and Bavaro, are beautifully white and well groomed and the water is turquoise clear.

The majority of the over 30 resorts in Punta Cana are all-inclusive, allowing for an easygoing vacation with plenty to do.

Punta Cana has miles of empty beaches for exploring. Scuba diving and snorkeling are popular activities(If you into that, you will love it). Being at the point where the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea meet, conditions are ideal for parasailing and windsurfing. Golfers may wish to venture out on the occasional day trip, as three of the world's best golf courses are located like about an hour and a half away.

Resorts such as Iberostar Bavaro offer deluxe accommodations with extensive entertainment options. Swimming pools, full gaming casinos, discos, gourmet dining, and charming shops and boutiques. I love Punta Cana, Can you tell?..lol .. Punta Cana has the finest upscale resorts in the Caribbean.

The warmth of the water around Punta Cana attracts many birds and marine animals such as humpback whales, palm trees, powdery sand, gentle breezes, and warm temperatures make "MY BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY DR" and this region nothing short of paradise.

Have fun and Enjoy!

Good Luck!

i have heard of it, but never been. go to you tube.com and type in the name of this hotel, and you will see video footage of all the fun that people have at this resort. you can also google reviews of Gran Bahia Punta Cana and choose the website of your choice to see reviews that people have written about this resort. if you don't like it, the resort that i just came from in Punta Cana is Sirenis Cocotal Beach Resort. had a great time. got a great deal from vacmart.com double occupancy at $632.00 also another great website is cheapcaribbean.com have fun.
if you are from the US don't forget to sign in to this website. it is not mandatory but is a good idea. it is mandatory for govt employees, mainly military so if you are in the military and didn't know, now you know. anyway that website is http://www.travel.state.gov/ look under international travel for us citizens. then click on registration with embassies. check out whatever else may interest you on that page especially Emergency assistance to americans abroad and Tips for traveling abroad . also go to http://www.domrep.org/ once there go to embassy. under embassy click on embassy staff. print that page and put it in a safe place. also do the same thing for the consular section click on consular staff and print & put in safe place for that just in case of an emergency.

Hi!,
Well Punta Cana has beautiful hotels/resorts, one next the other on a small strip of beach. Ok they are nice, but I suppose if you travel it is not to stay in your hotel, it is to discover a country, culture and people? Then it is better to go to Puerto Plata, very nice hotels, with excellent service, a enormous beach of 23 km long! Ocean World, Isabella de Torres (cable car) and not far away from town where you can shop and wonder around.
Nearby there is the place where the new world was born ( C. Columbus), and the famous shopping city of Santiago is 1 hour drive away....
Just think about it, and ask your travel agent (if he she is competent).
I hope this helped.
