Yes, Aruba is a country, although it's affiliated with the Netherlands.

Baghdad is a city in Iraq, which is a country.

There are approximately 194 countries in the world. Examples:
United States of America
France
Mexico
Japan
China
Indonesia
South Africa
Egypt
The Bahamas

Hope that helps!

Try looking at a map of the world. Maybe reading of paying attention to news would help.

Aruba is an island country in the Carribean
Baghdad is the capitol of Iraq.

Aruba is a country gaining their independence from the Netherlands in 1986. Their association with the mother country is similar to what the US has with Guam. Aruba is under Dutch law but not under Dutch rule. They elect their own Parliament and Governor to office.

As the others have said Baghdad is a city in Iraq.

Aruba (Self-governing country in the Kingdom of the Netherlands)
Ascension Island (Dependency of the UK overseas territory of Saint Helena)
Australia – Commonwealth of Australia
Austria – Republic of Austria
Azerbaijan – Republic of Azerbaijan[10] ...to name a few. This site gives the explanation as to the state of their country.

Aruba is an island in the Caribbean which belongs to the Netherlands. You can say its partly a country because has its own flag and national anthem, but still is under the Dutch. But is still remains an island.

Baghdad is a city, the capitol of Iraq. And Iraq is a country.

Adam
Aruba is a country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Baghdad is a city in Iraq.
