bad as in no fun? dangerous? expensive? boring? or just unethical because of the regime?
if you don't care about the regime then it's great, beautiful, lovely people, unbelievably interesting and everyone wants to be your friend, and i mean your special friend, especially if you can buy them a rum or two.
it is fairly expensive. you can use pesos to buy cheap street food and occasionaly alchol but not much else, whereas CUCs put the prices up to the same level as in europe, if not higher.
if you do care about the regime, well it has its bad points, and it has its good ones, like a lot of places you might visit, or even live in. there is poverty and repression and big brother is watching you - good for tourists incidentally as there is very little crime - but also great healthcare, free housing and everyone gets a monthly ration of food. the cubans aren't eating mud biscuits like the haitians but they aren't able to afford shampoo or beer or pasta, and if they are not making money on the side, for example from tourists, or getting it sent from miami, they will go hungry at some point in the month, something which the tourist economy helps with. having said that the political brainwashing is nowhere near as ubiquitous as our commercial brainwashing and so many seem honestly happy. perhaps the best thing about cuba is it gives you a real, true holiday from the corporate strangelhold we live under. they are not free, but we are not free either.
it really is a unique place which is definitely well worth visiting.

Cuba is a beautiful island , with very kind and lovely people.
It is one of the safest destinations in Latin America.
If you like beaches and sun go to Varadero. When you want to admire the Cuban culture, buildings, museums, nightlife etc go to Havana , for more see

Tropicales
So which question are you asking? Cuba is a beautiful place to visit. The island, the people, the culture, the history is all very breathtaking and amazing.

It is very safe ... definitely one of THE safest places to go, even for a female (although of course you will always need to exercise caution wherever you are in any country). Cuba is definitely not a bad place to visit. It's one of the best places to go.

But you're also asking about Boraboar...do you mean Bora Bora? If so, Bora Bora is not related or remotely connected to Cuba....it is in the French Polynesia.
I haven't been to Bora Bora but I have friends who went there and enjoyed it, but not to the extent they'd hoped. It was too expensive and nothing like Cuba.

You can't really compare Cuba with Bora Bora...the cultures and surroundings are different, even though they're tropical islands. It all depends on what you want for a holiday.

It most certainly isn't bad, in fact it is a wonderful country to visit, Cubans are gracious welcoming and proud of their country. Cuba has most everything, beaches which are out of this world, spectacular mountains, culture and history. Take a look at the links below they will give you lots of information. By the way, safe? You bet.
