Gulfstream five doesn't know ANYTHING! Don't speak for Jamaica lest you born, live, raise there okay buddy!?
He is just spitting facts without any detail!
I am jamaican and Listen..most of those killings or what not..occured due to GANG-related, DRUG-related things. And most of these things occur in BAD neighborhoods! If jamaica was so bad, why is that i'm not dead or NONE of my family dead..absolutely NONE of my friends EITHER!! And I have a big family and lots of friends. SO what is he talking about..doesn't Europe have bad neighborhoods!!? EVERYWHERE has bad neighborhoods that alot of people KNOW to stay away from!
Jamaica is a DIVERSE place..we are used to seeing whites, blacks, chinese, indians..etc! These people are ALL jamaican! You probably did not know that, but when you move there you will see them! It's important to move to a GOOD neighborhood..so research on which place is right for you!
Jamaica is NOT a racist place. It is filled with EMBRACING people..as long as YOU are NOT racist yourself..they will treat you equal as they are! When you move to jamaica, you are Jamaican..no longer European. Don't say, "well, in europe we..."..NO, you're in jamaica now, so this is how jamaica is. if someone from Jamaica came to Europe going on an on about Jamaica, you'd react the same to right?
Jamaican will call you "whitey" if they don't know you're name and they want to get your attention. They do they same thing for black people(dred or blackey), chinese(chiney), indians(coolie) etc! So don't get offended..different culture!
Anywho, I think you should stay in jamaica for a month or two and see if you can adjust to the culture. It's pretty hard to change your whole mentality of life..so test the water before you jump in! Also be around an area with good hospital, good police force..make surre to check everything before you move!
I will finish this statement by saying,
welcome my jamaican brother/sister..:) |

You will be safe in Jamaica. I make this satement based on the assumptions that:
1 you are not going to move into a ghetto.
2 you are not going to liaise with criminals, drug dealers etc.
3 you are not openly homosexual
You will not be faced with racism. Unless of course you are a racist then naturally you may get some backlash.
As someone said before Jamaica has people from several races and ethnicities. Our motto is after all 'out of many one people'. You will be welcomed and treated as a fellow Jamaican.
Do kindly look into our cultural dos and donts so as to ensure a quick and easy transition to Jamaican life. |

Jamaica is like any other country. If you go there and engage in drug trafficking or illegal activities, you stand a greater chance of becoming a "victim" of crime. If you use the same precautions that you would in other countries, you will be fine. Hopefully, when you go there as a "white" man, you will go without prejudice as Jamaicans don't take too kindly to racist white people. They don't like all that color hassle. Out of Many, One People. One love. |

The person who keeps quoting the crime rate in Jamaica should think about what he/she is saying or quoting. The crime rate seems to be high but compared to other countries, but it is no worse or no better than other countries in relation to the population of the country.
As for skin colour, it doesn't matter where you go, there is always someone who won't like the colour of your skin - why ask about Jamaica specifically? I am Jamaican and have had more problems with my skin colour in other countries than white people will ever have here. It depends on your attitude, I feel.
I suggest, come to Jamaica and then work it out for yourself. We really are very friendly! One love. |

I'm from an European country, skin also white, and have lived in Barbados, a country also in the Caribbean.
And it wasn't even dangerous. So your move to Jamaica isn't and shouldn't be dangerous as long as you keep out of trouble. |

jamaica isn't dangerous as such as long as you can stay out of trouble your culture wont harm anyone so why worry about having a different culture as for skin colour there is a growing number of americans and europeans moving there so there already is a popular amount of white people already living there. jamaican people are very friendly anyway as for more natural reasons hurricanes are common there which are really shocking if you have no experience of them you should never underestimate the power of them |

Generally, not dangerous at all. Just be discreet with your money, and be careful with whom you associate, which goes for all places, I believe. |

This should answer your question.
More than 1,100 people have been murdered in Jamaica during the past year - an increase of nearly 30% on the previous year and the highest number ever recorded in a single year.
The Caribbean island of just over 2.5 million people has one of the worst murder rates in the world.
Detective Sergeant Jubert Lllewellyn said that Jamaica was being used increasingly by drug traffickers.
Another cause of so many deaths was fighting between gangs of political activists in the capital, Kingston.
More police recruited
The worst outbreak of inter-gang fighting erupted in the capital in May, leaving 71 dead.
In July, another 28 people were killed in gunfights when police and soldiers moved in to restore order.
The Defence Minister, Peter Phillips, has announced plans to recruit 1,000 more police officers to enforce new anti-crime measures due to be announced this month.
The government also plans to recruit an unspecified number of soldiers.
YOU ARE RIGHT GODDESS.......I AM SPITTING F A C T S ! GOOGLE murder rate jamaica! |
