No, foreigners cannot legally buy houses in Cuba. Even Cubans cannot sell their houses; they can only switch with another Cuban family (the so-called permuta). In the Cuban Law 65 about housing, the possibilities and rules are stated, but in practice this is a rather difficult matter, because a lot depends on the interpretation of the inspectors of the Vivienda Department (Ministry Of Housing). And even if you were able to work it out, it might be ok only until the current regime changes.

Basically, the answer is no.

Apart from special exceptions, generally only Cuban nationals can own property in Cuba.

The biggest exception to this were a number of apartment blocks built specifically for sale to foreigners - but those sales were stopped about 7 years ago.

You can marry a Cuban and buy in their name.

The suggestions someone is giving you in this question/answer are not 100% legal , is never legal ..by law foreigners are not allowed to buy any real estate in Cuba ...of course there are illegal ways but that is not what you want ...

i myself have been to cuba 8 times and know for a fact it is possible to buy a house in cuba but one catch....it must be in a cuban nationals name,so your money but the house cannot be in your name,my friend just married a cuban lady they live in canada and i know almost all there is to know about cuba anymore questions please feel free

You would be wasting your time and money to even try and do so,. Some tourists have told me about making under the counter arrangements however the only legitimate deal I've ever heard of with an inkling of truth is a British woman telling me of her optometrist doing so in the same town as Hemmingway's house and she thought he had made a deal to help the Cuban people in town who had eye problems. Now that makes some sense .

You could build a house in Cuba if you got married with a Cuban but buy a house is illegal no even the people who live in Cuba could do it . but if you want you could buy a house here in Belize is totally legal and cheap.
